    Rogue

A royal shad Super Rogue. This color is good on a lipless crank. Come spring we will see how it does on a jerkbait.

    Copper Craw

This is a Luhr Jensen Speed Trap body.

    Bluegill

First try at a bluegill. Turned out better than I thought it would.

    whitecrappie.jpg

This is my first crappie crank. The body is a Norman Thin "N". Still trying to figure out how to get the green and blue hilites to show up in a pic.
  5. I have not tried it, but, everything I have either read or heard or been told the answer is, no. I think it can be done but the resulting plastic is not good to use and i beleive the fumes are not good for you.
  6. Drop a 1/4" nut in the bottom of your colors and that will help get it mixed when you shake it up. As far as the plastic goes, different brands require different measures of mixing. Some "hard pack" on the bottom. What a lot of guys do is to get a small paint mixer and stick it on the end of a drill to get things mixed. Some others just give it a shake or two to get it mixed. I agree with the other replies and think that your issues will be solved when you get things mixed up good.

    Some Of My Work

Nice job Kris! They look great. I started not too long ago myself.

    Jointed Baits

I should add that the baits I did had 2 hinge points in the joint. If you are doing a Rapala type bait then this won' work.

    Jointed Baits

I have only done a few jointed baits but what I did was open up a paper clip, bend a 90+ deg on each end, then bend it in a V so that the 90 deg angles are slightly longer than the hook spacing. Then bend it a tick to get it in the hook holes and let it spirng back. I dont think this will work on longer baits though.
  10. Looks good to me stalker! I too have just started airbrushing. Keep up the good work.
  11. This is a picture of 2 medium tips for Bears injectors. One is in original condition and the other i modified to be used on other brands of aluminum molds. It works great on the other brands of molds and I do not see why a person couldn't do it with the adaptor for the 2 color injector. http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/zbasser/toolsandtuff/5-23-09007.jpg
  12. All you plastic guys have a Happy Thanksgiving!
  13. The only real way I know of is to pour them. If you have some old plastic or colors that didnt come out right, just remelt them instead of new plastic.
  14. Try sealing the mold with a elmers glue and water 50/50 mix. It will soak into the POP so you will have to do this a couple of times. The bbls that you are getting is because the POP is not properly sealed yet. Once you get a good seal on the POP, you will not have bbls. Try a search for sealing molds as there is volumes on this subject.
  15. I think bojon meant the ones with a metal divider. They can be used in micro if the metal is not shiney. as I said before, I don't use a micro personally, so maybe someone who does and also uses a divided Pryex cup in there can chime in.
  16. I haven't made one out of Pyrex, but what I use for a divider is the bottom of a non stick brownie or bread loaf pan. I still use JB weld but another member uses a high temp auto silicon. The non stick pan I think is another option to the aluminum. Clean up is a breeze!
  17. When shooting a core shot with the hand injector, you do not do both colors at the exact same time. The outer color is poured into the sprue, then the inner color is shot into the sprue. There is not a lot of time inbetween these steps as both colors do have to make it to the end of the mold. There are others out there that are better at this than me. Maybe they will chime in. Here is a pic.
  18. I use lam bags for mine. just be careful how you lay them in there and the y should be fine.
  19. If you can afford one then it is the way to go. And then when you open your web store, all you have to do is put more plastic in it! LOL You can do a lot of baits with it, but I may suggest an alternative heat source for tinkering around with recipes. When I tinker, I do it with 4 oz of plastic. The presto will do that, but it may be easier in a smaller pot/pan/pyrex. Just a thought.
  20. I will second what jimcline said. it may even be easier than a hot plate or micro. Once you get the temp set, your up and pouring in a flash. I would also recommend one with a stirrer. It is kinda a pain to stir that big of a pot by hand. In the same breath, a hot plate or mic are good sources too. What may work for one person may not be so good for another. Cost wise, mic may be about the cheapest. Pick one up at a garage sale or someplace and then get a Pyrex or Anchor measuring cup or two. I know you are doing research on this. figure out what may be good and give it a shot. Good luck.
  21. I second what smallie chaser said. Warming the tip, adaptors and the injectors will help. What some others do is to leave the first injector in the pan/pot with the hot plastic while loading the other injector. This will keep the injector hot. Hope that helps.
