  1. X3 on the brush bug. It is a very good mold and bait. I have both the sammler version and the larger one and the y both catch fish.
  2. I don't sell a ton of baits, but what I do is to try to cover as much of my costs as I can. I just sell to friends, tourny fishermen, co-workers and people like that. I have tried to keep it to where I can still play with all the new stuff and new ideas instead of having to crank out 1000 of this and 1000 of that in my free time. Hope that makes sense.

    What glue?

What about an adhesive caulk? If it works, the trick will be to keep it thin as to not comprimise the bait shape.
  4. X2 on what Nova said. One thing I do notice with the aluminum is that the outside of the mold can feel hot but the lure is cool enough to remove. The aluminum will disperse the heat a little faster than DWP.

    Frog Mold

Bearsbaits has one also. Not quite like the ribbit, but it is a good frog none the less.
  6. There are a lot of threads on here that describe that process. You may try a search for POP molds and go from there. here is a search result that will get you started. Tackleunderground - Search Results
  7. Cool! Thats a good idea. I too will be interested in it's longevity. Let us know.
  8. couple links are bad www.del-mart.com www.bobstackleshack.com
  9. LC is a good manufacturer of RTV molds. They also have some aluminum molds for sale. Also check out the line of RTV molds from bearsbaits. As for aluminum, there are a few that have them. They are all quaility molds. www.bearsbaits.com www.delmart.com www.bobstakleshack.com www.lurecraft.com www.m-fmanufacturing.com Those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. I know there are a couple more, but am not familiar with them.
  10. Hey sniffer, Don't know if you read these 2 posts but many of your questions are answered in there. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/soft-plastics/17201-injectors-molds.html http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/soft-plastics/17207-2-color-injection.html I am only familar with the one from bearsbaits. I have not heard good things about some of the other ones. Bears IMO is the best one out there for the hand pour guys. You will not loose any softnes or texture when using this. It is the same plastic that you hand pour with. To clean it, there is a screw at the plunger end. Remove it and that will give you open access to the tube portion. I just twist up a couple of papertowels and pull them through it a couple of times and it is good to go. You do not have to do this but about every 5 or 6 fills. One other tip that Bear told me was to put a little worm oil on the O-ring at the beginning and that will allow a smoother draw and push. This is not for use with one sided molds. You would be much better off with a pot or pyrex for those molds. This is for the hard to pour 2 pc molds, and for that matter, most 2 pc molds. Hope that helps.
  11. Good Lord people! Can't we all just get along? JEEEZZZZZ! People talkin bout girly stuff, and keep posting it. As far as the name thing, if it were a members only site I would not have a problem with that. But having the thing open to all the freaks and geeks in this world, no way Jose'. If you want to know my name, PM me and I'll give ya my addy and cell # so we can talk like men. The color thing is something that we are going to have to deal with. Be creative and experiment to find what works for you. If you have a customer that won't buy because of a problem beyond your control then maybe you don't need them as a customer. I talked to LC when the green pumpkin changed and it was beyond their control. I am ure this is the same deal. For the posts getting deleted, I sure there is a reason. In the past I have seen people get warned before it actually happened. Evidently that took too much. It would be nice if the members post that got deleted could receive an email or PM stating why. Then maybe people would understand a little better as to why and not get all bent. I am sure that somebody will post back, so let me have it. Try darkenig up the new version with some black or purple.
  12. hey Rip, I'm sure you probably read this already but thought I would put it here if not. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/soft-plastics/17201-injectors-molds.html In post #1 I touch on the use of other molds. It can be done. My experience, which is limited at this point, I found it kinda difficult to top off the sprues when needed. Since that post however, it has become a little easier. I modified a few sprues to try it and it helped. There is a learning curve with this just like anything else. I am at the bottom of the curve right now. Time will help. Hope that helped.
  13. No, I did not divide the injector. You just pull the seperate colors into the injector and away you go.
  14. Working on core shots now. It can be done adn duplicated. Working on the timing of it.
  15. Oh, forgot to add that the nozzle design is also to aid in the speed of the operation. If you get an extra nozzle then you will be able to shoot faster. When the first load is done, then you remove that nozzle and insert the second one and continue shooting.
  16. Yes it will help with discoloration due to heating of the plastic. Not a lot is need depending on how much you are pouring.
  17. It does not take much pressure at all to inject the baits. It is a little more than placing your hand on the plunger and SLIGHT pressure is applied. You shouldn't be pressing the plunger down unless you have the nozzle in the mold. I have the medium size injector. The large size injector I beleive has a threaded nozzle. That is just due to the 5.5 to 6 oz of plastic that it holds. It is safe but a little common sense will go a long ways. You will want to wear gloves, safety glasses and long sleeves just in case. They have some hot mill gloves over there for $5 and the y are well worth it. Hope that helps.
  18. Yes Cobra, itis kinda like a bicycle pump of sorts. You pull the plastic in with the plunger and then you are shooting baits. Really cool!
  19. Thanks MT. That is what I meant but couldn't find the words.
  20. PD, They were done with one injector. Did some experimentation on how I got the plastic into the injector and this is what came out.
  21. Cobra, That all depends on how many you want to make. I have 1 brush mold, 2 lizard molds. In a matter of ten minutes I can make about 20 lizards and 10 brushes. When i get the other 2 brush molds then it wil be game on. As far as the pricing, I think I put the link to bearbaits in the original post. The reason I say to modify the sprue is so that you dont have to top off. Having to go back and top off only slows you down. The amount of plastic in the sprue is not that much, besides you cut it off and throw it back in the pot an keep going. These are just my opinions and if you really want to check them out, go to www.bearsbaits.com
  22. thanks guys, but it is mostly in the system. It is easier than using a divided pot. The thing that got me was they almost came out more like a laminate rather than a swirl. I will be playing some more with the injector and will keep you guys posted. So far it has really impressed me. It takes a learning curve, which I am still in by the way, and a couple more safety measures. But safety is a good thing.
  23. here is a link to the gallery that shows some of the 2 color injected baits I did today. They turned out really well and am real happy with the results. Did not know what to expect as I have not used an injector at all before this weekend. Tackleunderground Home - Luremakers Photo Gallery - 2 color injections So if you were wondering if you can do 2 color stuff with the injector, the answer is heck yeah!

    2 color injections

This is a pic of some 2 color baits done with an injector from bearsbaits.
  25. Also want to add that the injector also makes it possible to od the mold that just will not hand pour. I have read the threads that guys have posted about some molds, no matter what they try, they just won't pour. This is the solution. If the sprue is big enough or can be modified to become big enough, this injector will shoot the mold with no problems. Check them out.
