    Sum new baits

Nice mixture of color, scaling and shapes. Like them all.

    Clacker Fin Shad

Rofish, you are correct it is the head shake combined with the resistance against the water. The fin is built from one piece of stainless steel. I'll try to explain in words but a picture would be much easier to get the idea. The fins are as you see on both sides, in the middle I have a tabs that are folded back towards the tail with a 1/32" hole drilled in each with a brass tube that runs thru holes vertically, creating a hinge. Then I drilled thru the lure where a pin would run from the belly of the bait up thru the fin hinge and back into the lure.

    Fall Wally Crank

I've had a few walleye get ripped off my line this year right at the boat. With fall upon us I put this 12 inch 5.5 ounce bait together. Many of the wallies this year have been really golden so I loosely matched the general tone.

    Fall Cisco Crank

Getting ready for some late season fatties. Here's a 12 inch 5.5 ounce cedar crank. Nice slow wobble, nothing really special with the paint, kept it simple.

    Semi-Failed Glider

Here's an idea I've had knocking around in the back of my head for a while. Pretty typical glider only I added the pivoting fins designed to add flash and noise. The flash worked out just fine but the glider just didn't generate enough quick left-to-right movement to get the fins to make enough noise. I took this idea and made a crank bait that has proven itself to be a worthy bait. This glider has been chomped on a couple times so I guess it's not a total failure.

    Clacker Fin Shad

Here's a 6 inch cedar thru-wire shad. I've added stainless fins that move left-to-right with the shaking of the head. The fins rotate off of a single pin in the middle as the body of the crank bait moves. Works well and is definitely louder than a traditional rattle, plus I get the flash and the movement of the fins. It's a little rough as I've been running this lure for a month or so on the local water. Originally I designed a glider with this same fin set-up but it didn't have enough movement in the body to generate the clicking noise I was looking for. Thanks for lookin'.

Good stuff. Like the paint, also the eyes. Well done.
  11. Nice stuff. I'm sure Pete would approve. Also, nice write-up.

    Nice. Have they been producing?

    Gizzard Shad

Love it. The gills look great and appear to have the depth you were looking for without carving.

    Sucker with soft tail

I like this beast. Great work.

    Foiled perch

Nice work. I like the subtle carved details around the head, also like the eyes. What did you use? The hook rash makes the bait look all that much better.

    More 2" sinkers

Lookin' good Pete. Let us know how the red lip produces.
  19. Hilarious write-up. I've been in that predicament many times. I'll do that one extra thing and it ends up being the door that opens and ends up changing the whole look. More than not I end up starting over and asked "why did I do that". Sometimes however it leads to something better, so it's worth it like in this case.

    Improved Rat Wake Bait

Paint job is fine. Looks like a rat to me. I hate rats/rodents, the real thing not your bait. Any video of this creature?
  21. The lighter 1,0 mm definitely has a better action and flashes much more. I was surprised by the action leaning more towards a swimbait than that of a spoon, I expected more roll. I think you have a winner on your hands. Thanks for posting the video, always nice to have a live visual with the words. Hope the weather breaks for you. Here are water temps are still way below normal and now so late in the summer season it doesn't look like we are going to get the warmer water. Guess I'll just start fishing the fall patterns. Great job on the metal swimbait.

    7" Gizzo Clone

Swim action doesn't get much better than that. Fine work. Great lookin' baits. Nice to see the video accompanied with the still photos.

    New 8" Clone Trout!

Awesome work. Love the detail, fins, tail and the paint. The eye's look great also, glass?
