  1. Nice idea and craftsmanship. I could see this thing painted up and pulling some hogs in. Could you bend the tabs inwards to reduce the movement? Most swimbaits when swimming anyway only move a certain amount even though they have the ability to pivot into a full "U". Love it.

    Frog Splashers

These look nice. Like the details you put into them, under the mouth scaling and the patterns on the back. Does the prop counter act the popper function? Either way I'm sure they'll get smashed.

    2" Ugly Popper

Ugly? Nah, besides the fish will dictate that. Bet it gets hammered.

    Repaints

Making the old new again. Very nice feeling to breathe new life into the otherwise forgotten. Black is the backbone of my baits. Black, black and more black. Gets boring but the muskie and pike love black on the lakes I fish.

    Latest Crankbaits

Like the paint jobs and body styles. I think you'll be safe on the first tub-test run. I think you've made enough baits to have that sense when you simply hold them. You may have to fill that tub up to the top, these babies will be bouncing off the bottom in no time.

    Finished Baby Gills

    School of beauties.

    giant turkey

16 inches? Good lord. At this point you could just run some wire up a turkey's back side, add some blades on the front end and give it a go. Looks great. I'd throw that thing. Last week I was throwing a 12 inch bucktail, got hung up in the weeds and now I'm dragging about a two foot weed/bucktail and have a mid-40's ski take three runs at it. Crazy fish.

    alligator topwater

Crazy. Nice job on crafting this one. Tons of work and time. Curious, what species goes after this beast?

    a couple new ones

Petite as usual. Nice job. Does that spinner get spinning?

    bunch of new cranks

Some biggin's in that group. Nice work.

    Pair of Black Beautys

Nice work John! What purpose does the wire coming off of the back of the spinner serve?
  12. I've had the good fortune to boat a few muskie this year and they are destroying my baits. I use etex, carefully measured then placed on the wheel. Generally I put 3-6 coats on depending on the bait. What do commercial builders use? Are there other epoxies that some of you may use that hold up better? Thanks for any info on this. Sorry for yet another etex thread.

Thanks for the kind words. Douglas, Sorry, forgot the measurements. From the nose of the sucker to the end of the hair it measures 7.5".

    Clicking "Mouse Spoons"

For whom the bell tolls. In this case it's the fish. Nice idea, good stuff.

    50:50 #3

The third in a series. 50:50 hardbait/spinner. I did this one up in a cisco fashion, went a little heavy with the blue for the waters I fish. I'll be on Vermilion this week and can't wait to toss these baits. Again sorry for posting spinners here but I consider them hardbaits given the amount of work that goes into the bodies. Thanks for checking them out.

Here's another of the 50:50 hardbait/spinners I've been working on. The first one I did, a perch, brought in three muskie so far. Well two of them got off right at the boat but it's a proven bait so I decided to make a couple more. This one is a sucker made of red oak and a ton of lead in the head. Hope you like. Thanks for lookin'.

This turned out great. I like the subtle color palette and the eyes you chose. You did a fine job on those props also.

    6 inch Flatshad

I can see why the ski's would smash this thing. Love the pattern (horizontal lines added) on this candy coated kernel of temptation. Well done.
