  1. Gahnal lumber in Capo Beach has some in 5/4" X 4" or 6" X 18'.
  2. It's not only the length of the sections, but the spacing between as well. As you saw my Z6 Trout which is made of 6 sections progressively all getting smaller. The action was much like a snake at first, due to the spacing I had between the sections. Once I minimized the spacing the fluid fish like pattern emerged. So IMHO, it has to do with both, segment size with the spacing distance being a major factor. When the spacing was greater, the lure would fold into a "U" shape, but when spacing was smaller the bait formed more of an ARCH, and seemed to swim better. Just my 2cents!!! 3. Is shaping this stuff toxic to my health? I wore a mask, but man did I have a headache last night! But man is this stuff fun to work with!
  4. I am very excited as well to start. I am finishing up one of my new wood lures, and I think I am on to new materials and endless opportunities! 8O8O
  5. Ok.... so I found the product somewhere else. It is also called AZEK PVC. JR, My question is..... I was able to get a 5/4" x 4" x 18' piece, but they all were bowed in length not width, have you come across this, and does it matter, or do you heat it and let it sit on flat surface to get shape back? Mine has wood dimpling effect on one side, do you plain them, or?
  6. Ok guys, So the Lowe's I went to in So. Orange county does not carry the product, nor does the LA stores. Can anyone share the product name or code, so as to special order it thru their corporate site! Thanks Bill
  7. JR, Do you think that the PVC once cut out of harder shell could be lathed if glued in a 2" by 2" piece?

    More 8" trouts

Mark, Really nice work on the Trouts. Those should nail um!
  9. JR, If I may ask? What do you cast your baits with? They are truly works of art. I am getting into it myself and have admired your work. Just getting ready to mold a few of my creations, and I wanted to see what you recommended. Alumilite or another type product? These are all jointed top water or sub surface swimbaits. Thank You, Billy
  10. The extra coats will only prevent the cut reaching the core.....sorta. Just like over sized hooks that scratch the clear coat! The good thing is that it can be re-coated and re-used!
  11. By the way I never mentioned that the bait only has two eye screws in the whole bait! Hey Rookie - My good buddy is Tim, from www.swim-bait.com!!!
  12. I have finally achieved the action and balance that I have been looking for in my baits, and am ready to mold a few for some limited production. What are the pros and cons on these two casting options? Floats? Hardness? Accuracy in molding details? Holds screws well? I will be using a two part mold system. 13. Thank you all for your nice comments. IMHO and not to take anything away from The Rook and Vodka, but the tightness of the lure action was achieved by reducing the space between segments. When the segments where spaced further apart, the bait did a more snake like action, and was more erratic, but that is not representative of the actual swimming motion of a true fish. This was achieved through much trial and error. Here is a video of lipless: Here is the Z6 Billy
