You can slightly roughen with steel wool or scrubbing pad. I've had excellant results using Krylon Fusion Primer (rattlecan) holds up great. Works so good thought about trying on a bait without roughening.

Need some (cheap) suggestions for devcon application. Been using some fine bristle nylon from walmart, but only last for a couple of baits before ruined. Is there a cheap substitute that can be thrown away after use? But still has good results? Thanks for any input. KB

What are your opinions on tip size for cranks? I have a paasche VL and tips 1,3 and 5. Which tips do all of you prefer? Thanks

Back again, Is isopropyl alcohol the same as denatured alcohol? Tell you why I ask. I thought I read to prep for final devcon coat with alcohol.(to remove fingerprints) Well I used isopropyl alcohol and it wiped the paint off just like it was wet. Need help please! Thanks

O.K. guys, just started a couple of weeks ago, have done a few and have been tickled with the results. So I thought I was ready for a challenge. Wanted to do a sexy shad. Started with a mixture of pearl white and pearl silver, sprayed a turquoise pearl silver mix over that in a scale pattern, faded to dark turquoise top. I am happy dancing all around garage thought it looked great. Got ready for a gold stripe down the sides, RUINED BOTH. Question is how to you get the pretty gold stripe? (Do you mask it with something? Still Depressed!!!!!!!! At least with this stuff you just sand and start again. Any help on masking or advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance......

What is best to thin devcon with? Also, how much devcon does it take to coat a medium lure?(1.5 or 2.5 size). And what would be the thinning ratio. Thanks for all the input.

O.K. Guys, which is better to paint crankbaits with. Iridescents or pearls? All answers appreciated. (If you don't mind please explain point of views)

Alright guys need some help. Sprayed a couple of plastic cranks, used createx. Here's the problem. Lures looked good after painting, used Krylon clear for a topcoat and the Krylon made the paint wrinkle on one of them. Could spraying too close cause this or was it the Krylon? Need help please. Thanks

Hi Guys, need help. I'm very new to the airbrushing. I purchased a Paasche VL and several bottles of Createx paint. My questions are (1). What pressure and which tip size? The colors I bought look nothing like the colors on some of the great looking baits I see on here. (2). Does Createx make these paints? (3). If not, which ones do I need? (4). Do you just prime with rattle can paint? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kenneth
