  1. I use it all the time and wear a mask as a precaution. The first time I mixed up a batch without one, I started getting a headache.
  2. Looks GREAT! Being it such a big bait, I'd go with E-Tex or DN. 30min. Devcon will set up too fast. You could use Devcon if you wanted to do it one piece at a time though!
  3. Thank you Mark and Surf! I also like the angled cuts- I think it makes the look flow a little better (unless you have Snaxs and Nate's skills) . Can't wait to get started! Mark, do you have any plans of putting your trout on the market? I bet those things would sell like CRAZY! Beautiful work man.
  4. What color is this on Kanz's Sebile? I've seen The Rookie use it a bunch and I'd love to get some for my shad and herring......
  5. Thanks Snax. I'll give it a shot!
  6. Interested in some 5mm and 7mm if you have any left. Thanks, Jordan
  7. Thanks deimai. I was probably going to go with the screw eyes and pin type of hinge. I've got a few swimbaits like the JSJ Snack Sized Trout and Bluegill and the Mattlures Hardgill that use the same type of hinge. They both utilize the "V" cuts as well. The gaps might be wide by some peoples' standard, but it doesn't bother me that much. Rigt now I was looking to make a few and get the building process down. Once I am happy with my carving and weighting, I might dabble a bit with different hinges. I'll take a look at that thread and I look forward to your tutorial. Appreciate the help. Tight lines, Jordan
  8. Is it necessary to cut your swimbait pieces in half in order to add hinges of any kind? Why can't you just drill some pilot holes for the eye screws and epoxy them in? I'm new to the whole swimbait thing so I'm trying to find the easiest way to go about it. I also just ordered John Hopkin's video, and I bet that will be a major help!
  9. Thanks guys! I guess I'll just do it the same way. I might use a finer brush for the markings and a stencil for that "ear".
  10. Thanks, but I definitely need to find a different way to do those blue markings. I was thinking about folding some mesh over a few times and spraying through it. You think that will give me what I'm looking for?
  11. I was needing some help with this Longear pattern. I think I got the colors down, but those blue markings are killing me. They're too random to do with a stencil or mesh. Anybody have any ideas???? Thanks in advance!

  13. Thanks Vodkaman. I'm not sure what material I'm going to use. I was thinking PVC and as for the joints, I might go with the eye screws and pin (don't know what it's called) . I pretty much any kind of tool at hand except for the belt sander. I'll read up on that thread you posted. Thanks again!
  14. I've been painting for a few months now and I want to take it to the next step- making some baits. I'm not a big crankbait fan, but I'm a total swimbait junkie. What are some of the materials I am going to need in order to get into this obsession? I'll most likely be making 3 piece bass and bluegill swimbaits ranging from 4"-7". Any tips or links to some nice tutorials would be extremely helpful! Appreciate it guys.
  15. The brush you got should have a recommended psi, if not, I shoot anywhere from 10psi-40psi depending on what I'm doing. I painted all winter and it got COLD. Close the garage, dress warm, and use a space heater. Shake the paint good before you use it, and if it seems thick, hit the bottle with a blowdryer for 30sec or so.
  16. I used all createx colors- black, pearl silver, trans forest green, pearl gold, trans yellow, trans brown, and pearl red. Thanks for the compliments!
  17. Looks great man- a lot better than my first! I haven't tried that spray poly, but if it works out for you, I'm all over it. My guess is that you'd have to do a few coats, letting it dry between them. Right now I'm using Envirotex and I've been pretty happy with it.
  18. Daaang Rook, that thing looks awesome! Hey you copied my bass pattern.....:lol: For real though, great shape and paint job. What is the length? I think it'd look great as a wakebait with a prop on the back and it'd be killer as a double prop bait. Keep it up man. -Jordan
  19. Here's an 8" injection molded Punker in a perch pattern. This was actually the first perch I've ever painted!

  22. Painted up this guy the other night. Definitely my best bass pattern yet. Still needs to be cleared, but I can't wait to fish it!

  25. I need a little help here guys. I'm trying to remove the eyes from an injection molded Lunker Punker. They seem to be about 1/4" thick or so and might even be made out of glass. I can't get an exacto knife under them like usual because of how they are recessed. I'd either end up breaking the blade off or beating up the "eye socket". Should I just cover them with some tape or Vaseline? I'd like to reuse them on the bait if I could. Thanks you!
