  1. I'd also suggest a good strip down and cleaning. You may also want to make sure the needle is as far forward as it can go. I've had the same thing happen and that was the problem.....
  2. It's either E-Tex, or something just like it. look in the paint section where all the lacquers and stains are. They have a 32oz. kit for $20 there. It says "60x thicker than varnish." or something.
  3. Lowes also carries Envirotex or something just like it.
  4. It's kind of a safety measure. I might apply too much Etex or it might be warmer than usually and want to run more. It's just a personal preference..... Thanks BobP- I'll check it out.
  5. Experiment with different sizes/types of combs or pics. I tried out about 6 of them until I finally found the one I like. Sometimes you can't just look at the comb and tell what size the stripes will be. It might turn out different when you actually spray through it.
  6. Yeah mine is definitely 1rpm. I use Etex, but I'd feel more comfortable using a faster motor. Well, the search continues! Thanks.
  7. I've looked at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, ebay, and a few other places for the right motor for my lure turner. I bought one from ebay, but it's only 1rpm and it's too slow for my liking. If anybody has a 3-7rpm motor or can get one, please let me know. I would love to buy it off you. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Couple catfish!

Pretty SWEET there Crank! I like the whiskers and the eyes on that butter cat look very familiar.... haha
  9. Thank you! I'll post some pics of my finished product. That was a great illustration.
  10. Sounds great Neptune. I appreciate the help. Right now I have a 1rpm rotisserie motor, but it's too slow for my liking. Thank you.
  11. No I haven't tried calling yet. I'll wait a couple more days then give him a call. I know how swamped certain companies can get. Thanks
  12. Thanks for the link Neptune. Is there any way you can tell/show us how that might work? I'm no electronics whiz, so it all looks like a pile of metal and wires to me. Also, going back to the microwave motor- does anyone know how I could make this thing work?.... Amazon.com: NEW 120V Microwave Synchronous Synch Turntable Motor 5-6 rpm 2.5/2W: Kitchen & Dining Thank you!
  13. I've tried to contact Dick Nite for at least 3 or 4 days now, and still no response. Has anyone else had trouble getting a reply from them? I emailed them through the "TU email address". Also, I've heard some people just dip the baits and hang them, while others dip then put them on a drying wheel. Is one better than the other? Thank you.
  14. Sorry- I must have mistaken you for another crash from UB. Her husband bought an airbrush from me for her not too long ago.
  15. Actually, I know how to clean airbrushes just fine. I got that HP-C along with my HP-B from a friend. I checked to make sure it shot fine before I posted it for sale and it did. I ran some windex through the brush a couple times and put it back in the box. Whatever was in the airbrush was probably from the person I bought it from- I stated in the ad "This brush could use a good cleaning!". I completely break my airbrush down every night and soak it in a cleaner until I'm ready to use it the next day. Please let me know if you have anymore questions about the brush and I'd be happy to assist you. -Jordan

  17. OK thanks. I haven't started painting any baits like the BBZ-1 or anything like that. I just thought I'd post it in case people were still looking. If I ever get around to it, I'll let you know what I find.

Thank you for the tip. I'm going to get something made up soon for when I take pics. It does kind of take away from the paintjob.
  19. Came across some soft plastic paint called Color Tech on lurecraft.com. Supposedly it bonds with the plastic so there is no need for a clear coat. Have you guys tried this stuff out?
