I wanted to see if anyone had a bass tackle 716 Tiny craw and/or a 2" twin tail grub mold they could make me some baits with. I'm looking for a few dozen of each in green pumpkin and pumpkin seed. Please give me a price and I can send you money via paypal. Thanks Jon

I have both hand pour and injection models of the bite me craws from Basstackle. The hand pour craw is nice and has some OK action but if you're looking for a lot of craw actions then injection craw is the one the one you are looking for. I know you said you were looking to pour some baits so you might not be looking to get an injector but I really like my bite me injection craw. Basstackle has a video of the action of the injection craw on the site if you want to see how it moves.

I'll take it. Email me your PayPal info. Parker085@gmail.com

I have a bunch of Del-mart DropShot molds and I really like them. They will last forever and you get a really nice finished product. My favorites are straight tail models, like the the 4" DropShot Worm (SKU: SKU16163). He has them in all shapes and sizes so I'm sure you will find what your looking for there.

When I first started pour sticks i was having the same issues with not knowing if i was putting enough salt and softener in, so i know where you are coming from. After lots of testing i went back to what everyone says in the standard stick formula, (1, 1/2, 1/4). I found using 1/2 cup of LC 502, 1/4 cup of salt (blended but not all the way to floured form), and 1/8 softener (cut softener in half if using Super Soft plastic) is what looked best in the tank as well as what the fish really liked. So personally i think you need to double your salt and leave everything else the same. So it would b 2 oz plastic, 1 oz salt, and 1/2 oz soft (if you are using SS plastic cut to 1/4 oz) That will do two things, help harden your baits up and make them fall better. These stick are not supper durable but they work really well. If you are lucky enough to catch the fish without loosing the stick then just hold on to the ripped ones and remelt them. Some days i can get a few fish per bait and others they get ripped without even getting a fish. When I remelt I normally will melt half pre-used baits with half a fresh batch and the come out great. When it comes to color i'm also in the same boat with you on how to compensate for adding salt and it's a game for sure. What i have done as of late when adding or removing salt from something i'm playing with is just make them black. It's hard to mess up black and black is a color that will catch you fish just about anywhere you go. Personally i don't think it works as well as green pumpkin but it catches fish and helps you get the bait the way you want if without wasting a lot of time playing with color mix. Hope this helps Thanks Jon

Thanks Fatman I know those old Erie Dearie style molds are really expensive and i don't use a ton of them so paying too much for the mold isn't worth it. I found a few of the new DO IT Weight Forward Spinners molds more reasonable but still not sure i would make enough of them to make it worth it. Your comment reminded me to come post on here that I found a guy last night who will pour me some so i should have some heads coming soon. Thanks Jon

I wanted to see if anyone could pour me some Weight Forward Spinners in 3/8 and 5/8. I would be interested in 25 of each size. All I want is the heads poured. I will paint and add the rest of components myself. If you can help me out, please let me know what style of weigh forward mold you have and a price. Thanks Jon

I wanted to thank everyone for all the help. I was able to hand pour this mold once a switched to LC super soft. I'm still going to look into getting a presto pot and building a injection block as i'm sure it save some time. Now I just need the lakes to thaw out so I can go test them out.

I had some issue with Junebug the first few times I made it. My purple was fading. Trying add 10 drops of heat stabilizer, per 4 oz of plastic. Here is the post that I found that talks about heat stabilizer helping. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/5613-zoom-june-bug/page__p__36135__hl__%2Bgrape+%2Bheat+%2B__fromsearch__1#entry36135

This supports what I was thinking, that my plastic was too thick. I'm going to give it a try with super soft here a night this week and see what happens. Delw, the mold is great. The issue here is more about the guy trying to hit that little hole and how thick the plastic is that I'm using.

Great question, it's hard to fit 1 3/4 cups worth of stuff into a 1 cup glass. I started with a 2 cup glass and then transfered from my larger cup to a smaller 1 cup b.c I thought I could get a thinner pour out of the smaller glass. This is a great point as I was having more trouble when the 1 cup was full and it got easier as the cup got down near the 1/2 a cup mark. Thanks for the heads up. If I'm using super soft do I even need to add softener? I did a quick search and found people saying if you use LC 536 for sticks you don't have to use softener. When I pour sticks normally I use 1 cup of LC 502, 1/2 cup salt, and 1/4 softener.

Sorry Basscandy I missed your reply (thanks for pointing this out SHK) I have some super soft here so i will have to give it a try. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I do agree with your point on why having your craws buoyant would make it easier for the fish to find them. I also agree it's what works for you, just wanted to see what worked for other people.

Thanks for the help guys. I worked on pouring some more this morning and was able to get it to pour a little better by flouring my salt, raising the temp to around 355, and keeping the cup really close to the sprue. Still not getting full pours every time but i was getting 5 and 6 out of 7. FuzzyGrub, I have been reading about the resin injector blocks you have been making but haven't had a chance to make one yet. That looks like one option for fixing my issue. Thanks It's also great to hear a Presto Pot w/ stirrer from Bears will pour these 3" sticks. I have been strongly considering getting one of those pots as I'm sure it would make pouring large quantities of baits much easier. Thanks again
