  1. Does anyone know of a mold that makes a similar bait to the Swim senko? I'm looking for something in the 4 inch size range.I found one on the Basstackle site, in a hex shape worm, but wondered if anyone has this mold, or knows of a good one besides it.
  2. I have dealt with them several times, and you are right, they are very good to deal with.
  3. 702 craw from Bass Tackle is hard to beat ,It is my favorite craw hands down. It not only shoots great , it flat out catches fish, great action.
  4. I have poured several of the new swivel football jigs myself, I have not noticed a problem with the sizes that I poured. Which are the 7 /16 and THE 1/4 oz . I did get one of the wire forms in wrong and had the problem that Cadman mentioned. I'm using the 4/0 Bass pro shops xps hooks in the extra wide gap. But I have not yet poured the smaller sizes, I will try to pour some and see what happens. Thanks Cadman for bringing this up, I will keep my eye on this to see if I too have this problem with the small sizes.
  5. After reading all the different ways to fish it, and the success with the jig , I think I will have to add this mold to my collection. I sure appreciate all your posts on how this jig was supposed to be fished, and different ideas as to what could be fished on this jig, to catch bass on it. Thanks to all for sharing your information.
  6. Smalljaw, thanks for your reply. I was curious as to what was to be gained by having the head free swinging over stationary. But do see what your talking about the different look it gives a bait. Did you think it was a more apt to hang up, than a conventional football head? I was surprised to hear that Biffle fished it more like a crank bait, than a slow drag across the bottom. Tight lines
  7. I have a bunch of do-it molds, and think they make a great product. But by nature I am a skeptic about what it takes to catch fish. When every one started the shaky head craze, I just couldn't believe that it would catch anymore fish than a texas rig pegged to the sinker. But after finally trying it, I must say it flat catches them. I can't get in my head now any advantage to have the football head to be loose instead of rigid. I just thought I would like to hear different ideas about this , and thought it might be fun to find out what other people have to say about this new bait. I know Tommy Biffle has been doing this for a while, but would he still catch as many fish, with a conventional football jig? who knows. I'm sure he will get some money for this design. Or Gene Larew . Please if you have time let us hear your opinion. Thanks
  8. A easy way to keep your hooks warm is to use an old crock pot, just dump them in, and put it on low. You can usually pick the hooks up with your hands, without burning them. It just warms them enough they work better in the mold. Also the talc powder is a good way to get a cavity to fill on out if you've been having trouble. I use a small rag and shake a little on the rag and then wipe the cavity down with the talc powder, and it has never failed to complete the cavity. Once you start having a problem again just wipe the mold again. Every one has a little different way of doing things, this is just one of mine.
  9. Smalljaw is right, it makes a great looking bait, and is super easy to do. I actually think it looks better than the originals.
  10. Bears's 4 inch hinged tube mold, would like 2.
  11. The 660 swim bait mold shoots fine, with the twin injector. It has a great action, also. Hope this helps.
  12. Thanks for the Link Edl. When I get some made I will try to post a picture.
  13. I have been looking for a recipe for Key Lime Pie, will any one share it? I thought I had written it down some where, but can't find it. Thanks
  14. Hate to hear this news, I had not heard of his death. He was a great fisherman, and a very good teacher about the out doors . He will be missed by many.
  15. Does any one own the Bass Tackle 3.5 swim reaper mold? Does it have a good swimming action? Sure would like to hear about it, from someone who owns the mold first hand.
  16. I two have had this problem with these molds, Iv'e tried everything to get it consistant, and still hit and miss, with laminates.
  17. What about molds 538 and 539 Basstackle creature baits, do they have good action? Also do they inject with little trouble? Love to hear from someone owning these molds. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the replies, I think I have solved the problem, I started shooting the mold at around 300 degrees, and that has helped a lot. I have not had to do this with any of the other water putty molds ,don't know why this one is that way, but if you run upon this problem, it may help.
  19. What besides venting, will cause denting in plastic baits? Have more than enough venting in this swimbait mold but still get dents. I have 2 of the same molds and both do the same . I try to inject at about 330 degrees and above is this to hot? I have 35 plus water putty molds with out this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks Ps would post a picture but have not been able in the past.
  20. Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to know if they had an action that was better than most other swimbaits. If they are nothing special and they are hard to keep the tails on, then I won't spend the money on the mold. I was just looking for something a little different from the norm. They are very different looking, for sure.
  21. Does any one on the forum own the 667 swimbait mold made by Basstackle? Sure is odd looking, I'd love to here from some one who has this mold.
  22. Jsc, the mold looks to be aluminum, If I can borrow a descent camera, and can figure out how to post a picture, I will try to put a picture on the forum, It has cleaned up some already, but I have not had a lot of time to work on it. Thanks again for everyones response.
  23. Thanks for the replies, I will try the semi chrome. Have been working on it with some old polish that Iv'e had for a while. It is coming around ,but I think if I had some good polish it would do better.
