  1. That's kinda what I was thinking, It will be a pretty good job, it has 6 cavities. and sand blasting would probably hurt the mold.
  2. I recently bought an old injection mold ,from a company that was in business in the 70's.It appears to be made of aluminum, that has dulled pretty badly. When I shoot it, it makes a dull worm. I sprayed oil on it before shooting it ,and it helps but before long they are dull again. What would be the best way to shine this old mold up? Other than the dullness it makes a great bait.
  3. I agree on the fat will get rancid, but before I made my own soft plastics,I used to use netbait products exclusively, and they claim to have pork fat added to their baits. Iv'e always wondered how they did it. I caught many a fish on them. Any ideas?
  4. 702 Craw from Basstackle, I'm with Uma62. It's a great bait.
  5. I too, have had very good service from them. They will bend over backwards to see you get what you need, and very fast on shipping too.
  6. Looks like you learned well. Great job,I like them all.
  7. Be sure you shook it up well,it take an unreal amount of coloring to actually get the plastic dark. I sometimes add some very bright red coloring also, not much though.
  8. You can always put a coat of D2T over it,and it will shine.
  9. I agree with smalljawabout the snootie jig. If I could only have one jig mold,it would have to be the snootie.I also love the football jig mold, and the shakie head molds, but each one has there place.
  10. Smalljaw, where do you get the best prices on the new Eagle claw hooks? Do you have to have a tax ID number to get them at a good price?
  11. Hope you get healed up soon. I no that was very painful.
  12. One of the first do-it molds I ever bought was that shaped head for spinnerbaits. I guess it has not been made now for many years. It really didn't sell in my area, but it worked fine,I used to use it too. We're talking 1980s ,I don't no what ever happened to mine,I probably traded it for one I liked better.I used to buy do-it and hilts both, but pretty sure it was a do-it mold. If I run upon one I'll let you no.
  13. Gonfishn, Can you tell a big difference in the difference in the fluid bed plate from the brown paper bag, in the way it performs?
  14. I saw where do-it molds was making a flat bottomed football mold for 2013,it is designed for the trokar hooks, which are very expensive. I forgot if it was a weedless design or a screw lock,I beleive it was a screw lock. Most of there 2013 new molds are for trokar hooks, not saying that there won't be another hook that will work also,I feel like they will accomadate several defferent hooks. Like most other molds. I'm perfectly happy with the regular football jigs myself, but different strokes for different folks.
  15. The Basstackle 702 craw has a great action. I prefer it over the rage craw. It injects very easy, and the price is fair. Just my 2 cents.
  16. I will try out the new eagle claw hooks,Iv'e heard others brag on how they have improved. Thanks for the replies.
  17. Thanks for the replies,I may try the mustad 32746 first ,because of price, I no that Owner makes a good hook also. I was just trying to get the price down, the Gamakatsu is a great hook, but there prices are little high for my way of thinking.
  18. Iv'e been looking for a mustad black nickle hook to replace the 604 gamakatsu hook. Is there one ,that works good? Or even any other good jig hook that will work.
  19. Tried another brand by Dow ,and didn't like the out come ,near as good as Durhams. Don't really no the difference, but stayed with Durhams, and been very satisfied.
  20. It was 25 percent off of molds. A real good sale.
  21. Sometimes ,you can try putting a split shot on. behind the head, just to see if that's your problem.needing more weight.
