  1. Does anyone have the Bears segmented swimbait molds? I have not been able to find any feedback about them.Do they swim as well as they look like they would? Would love to here from anyone owning one. Thanks
  2. djs, those are great looking baits.Did you make the masters yourself?
  3. Single cavity 650 swimbait made by Basstackle.Like new, owned for about 3 months.Bait is 3.5 inches long, and swims great. To your door for 55.00,Paypal only. Sorry mold has been sold Saugerman
  4. Yes it is necessary to have to inject the mold. Most any good injector wiill run close to that price. I agree with jlure about cutting corners,it can get you burned really bad. I'd rather pay the price for a good injector. There are several out there,Bears baits,, Bass tackle, and Canny creek, just to metion a few. Welcome to the addiction.
  5. It seems that you only get one dog in your life that becomes that special. I no myself, have tried to get other dogs, thinking they may help fill his place, but it can't be done, I miss him every day, and he's been gone a long time.
  6. I used a piece about 1 inch long, back next to the tail,it stood the tail up high. But it is to big for a little finesse worm. It is as you said, a little pricey
  7. I have, .You have to have a pretty meaty worm though, I only used it in the tail of a 6 1/4 trick worm. I beleive it would make a worm stiff ,if used in the whole worm.
  8. Thanks, I need some things from them any way, I will get them to pour me a couple that look like what I want.
  9. Thanks for the responce,I have just been adding more flske, as someone mentioned, but still not to my lacking, probably not adding enough at one time. I made a mold simular to the Berkley shakey head worm, and I love there watermelon candy. As of yet,I still have not made one that is close enough to suit me. Iv'e come up with some good looking worms, but not the color of theres.I have been using 035 size flake, maybe I should try larger. Thanks for alll your help. If I ever get it right,I will post a picture,if I can figure out how.
  10. I have purchased glitter from several different suppliers. But no matter what, I always have problems, like mostly disappearing in the plastic, mostly. I have read several posts about bleeding, but don't really notice that, all that much. Iv'e been trying to make some finesse worms in watermelon candy color, and can't get the purple to stand out in the worms. I usually pour at 330 degrees plus, but have tried to stay closer to 300,but still having the same trouble. I have read about everything posted about this problem with purple glitter, but does anyone else have anything to add,,I could try? I add the glitter on the first pour, when it has been brought up to temperature, and that works pretty well, but when I reheat, that's when The trouble starts.
  11. I currently have 2 of the 869 lure craft molds .I'd like to get a coluple more in the 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inch molds. There pictures on there site are soo hard to tell any thing about. I'd like something shaped simular to the basstrix or that type body if possible. If you have any you really like, would you please tell me the number of the mold. I'd surely appreciate it. Thanks for the help in advance.
  12. Hope tou get better soon. That would be very easy to do.
  13. Do any of you own the Caney Creek Swim Shad molds, in the 3.5 or 4.5 inch size? Just wanted to no if they are a good bait for catching largemouth bass. They really look different than most swimbaits.I have read where they have been very successful for red fish and specks. I just wanted to here from some one who owns the mold.
  14. Basshunter5, I just got mine about a week ago. You probably just over looked it.
  15. I had ran a search for this paint before and came up with nothing. It's good to know that it can be bought somewhere else, also. I agree with many of you that it does stink to high heaven, but I have not had good luck trying other type paints, and getting them to dry on the plastic to where you could handle the baits, even long enough to dip them in clear, without messing them up. I only dip past the eye generaly anyway. I haven't been using a resperator ,but I will be from now on,I know how bad this must be for your lungs, seems I'm always in a hurry, and think I won't be breathing it for that long at a time.Just lazyness on my part I know better. If there is something out there that works,as well, and not nearly as hazardous, please let me know,I'd like to use something safer. Thanks
  16. I don;t know how many of you already know this, but Lure Craft will not be selling the color tech paint as soon as they sell out.I received a e-mail from Kim today and that"s what she said. I just thought I'd mention this so if any of you use this you might go ahead and order what you think you might need later.
  17. Thanks for the reply,That's the best way to find out about something you are about to purchase is,by asking someone who owns one. Thanks again I went ahead and ordered 1 for now.
  18. I have bought several swimbait molds from Basstackle, and happy with most, But Kevin makes coments about each of his molds, like swims great,or good looking bait, with great action.I need another 4 inch swimbait mold, and like the looks of the 4 inch bt super shad,.Kevins remarks about this mold is it's a great looking bait, and says nothing about the action. Do any of you have this mold? And if so, does it swim as well as it looks? I called and asked questions about this mold but did not really gain any real information about it. I figure the best way to find out is to ask someone who owns one. Thanks
  19. I have been pouring a new open pour swimbait, and have been pouring it to the top,and then adding more plastic as it cools, but even after doing that, I still get a sunk in area at the top. I'm sure some of you no how to get a more rounded look doing this. Would you let me in on what I should try? Does temperature have any bearing on this?
  20. I have a hilts bullet mold that makes 3/4 and 1 oz worm sinkers.
  21. I just started using a home made fluid bed also. I don't know if it is the best way,but I used silicone to attach my coffee filter. Hope this helps.
  22. Bear makes awsome molds, and backs up his products.I have never had a problem with his service.
  23. Thanks, Bass shack,I will give it a try.
  24. Thanks for the information, Bass Shack how do you add the pork fat,do you put it in the plastic,or mix it in the scent you normally use,and then add it to the plastic. I hoped to add it to my anise scent, and then add it to the plastic,Will this work OK? What ratio do you use, pork fat to plastic, or other scent. Thanks for eneryone's help.
  25. No, I wasn't talking about adding bacon or anything like that, I meant to save my grease off of bacon, and add a small amout of that to the plastic. I just can't really see how it would not turn cloudy, and maybe even turn spoiled smelling. But I have used plastic that has had it added to the scent,or at least that's what the product says and have always had good luck with their product.
