  1. Glad someone posted about the search, in the upper left corner. That's the one I always tried to use, and I would get 0 results. Been around this site for some time, and just now finding that out.
  2. I have these molds, they make a good bait.
  3. Glad to hear that Flippinstick, I have been using the engine paint with mixed results. I have some molds that the paint stays on well, and a couple that paint comes off on the bait. Can't figure out why some will do fine and the other not. I have taken acetone and cleaned the molds that have been leaving the paint on the baits, and will try spraying them again, and see if it happens again.
  4. I think Hilts molds are still in business . That's where mine came from.
  5. The smooth end of drill bits work very good, as MJS said. A set of them, and you have about any size dots you need. You still can use them for drilling afterwards.
  6. Most do-it molds can handle 1 size bigger hook than what they suggest. You may be able to use a 4/0 hook in that mold.
  7. Monitors are different, but on mine it looks like minnow silver.
  8. MonteeSS, that craw looked great, bet it gets bit alot.
  9. Those are some great looking craws, Chuck. Great job.

  14. Greenpointer, if you have not already purchased one, you need to buy you one of the Badger battery powered mixers. They are very handy. It has a small mixing disk on the end and turns some very fast rpms. I've had mine for quit a while and love it. It will mix your paint in no time. They cost less than 10.00, and worth every penny.
  15. Wish I could help, but you got me, I've never seen one like it.
  16. I have ordered from them several times. It usually takes a good 5 or 6 weeks for me to receive my molds. They have always been good molds and , usually get back with you if you e-mail them, about anything.
  17. I have dealt with Barlows for years, and have always been treated fairly. They have great customer service.
  18. I really never had any problem, keeping the hook where I wanted it, if I had the wood placed to keep the wire from dangling down. Just close the mold easily while it's laying down. Maybe I'm missing what problem your having.
  19. Hawg Hooker, something that I do, when pouring spinnerbaits, is to find me a piece of wood, that's half the thickness of the mold, and rest the wire form that hangs out of the mold on the wood. That way your form is not dangling down. and moving your hook while you try to close the mold. I hope I explained this so you can understand what I'm saying. Open the mold and then get the piece of wood and place it next to your mold for a rest for any part of the wire form to rest on. It should be flat , and the wire form and the hook should be level laying in the mold. Been pouring spinnerbaits for about 40 years, this always helped me If the wood is thicker , or thinner it doesn't do nearly as well. I have made my piece of wood by running it through my planer, until it was the right thickness. Hope this helps.
  20. I used to work boat shows, where we were able to set up for free, because of my friend ship with the owner of the business. If you have to pay a large amount to set up, you could be very disappointed. The question is, will my baits appeal to the fishermen there, and if it does, is the price fair? Sometimes you just never know. We did very well, because we did not have to pay, to put our baits out there, and we always made a good profit. But the one thing that is for sure, this will help you get your name out there. And possibly, give you some return customers. As far as the amount of tackle your taking, it could be too much, or you could sell out fast., It just depends on the amount of traffic, and the mood of the crowd. Hope you do great, I always had fun.

  22. I have made several molds from the Durhams Rock Hard Putty. I bought mine in a large card board barrel, that I ordered from our local farm store. It figured out to be about .75 a pound. That was about 3 years a go's price, haven't bought any lately. But it is stronger and for me a little easier to work with, than pop. If you give it time to dry and seal it, you can make some pretty nice injection molds with it. It's like anything else, it takes practice . But you will get better with each mold you make. I think it's a good , inexpensive way to start.
