  1. With your lat statement I can see why you are having trouble. You don't have the heat mass to keep it hot for long. But with a griddle it has to help some. There is no magic way to keep plastic hot. If you use presto pots with two cups in it will be hot but after a couple of shots there won't be enough plastic in there to suck up. I stop using my presto pots when get to about two cups maybe more.
  2. How are you keeping the heat up when the cups are just setting there? I use two microwaves and adjust as needed. Doing the two colors in the same one could still cause a temp difference.
  3. Dels inserts are aluminium so they are not as heavy as the old Basstackle ones. You might want to check with bobstackle and see if he has them. He has the older molds that use those inserts too.
  4. Here you go. I am guessing you mean this one. http://www.basstackle.com/639_Ring_Swimbait_p/639-1-1.htm
  5. So if you bought the mold and started selling them in his favorite color he would not buy them because it not an exact copy? I think he would. Selling colors they can't get in a bait that is close should not be hard. You could make baits that have better action and flat out catch more fish.
  6. Bob makes one I think it is the 3.5" one. If not give him a call and ask I know I have a few of them.
  7. Bobs tackle shack has one called a swim ripper that is real close to that. Not sure what size you are looking for. Basstackle has one the 694 with the same profile but has in my opinion a better tail. It swims better than any other tail out there.
  8. I used a sample that was sent to,me. Works just like the original but looks clearer when heated. Maybe a little thinner when heated also. Set some in a window sill awhile back and they still look great.
  9. Spikeit has one that is called ghost pearl. It is clear with gold hilite on it. More of a gold color than brass. Looking at it on the site does not do it justice though it is much more transperant than than the pic.

    Chrome Color

You can put silver Mylar in your mold and shoot around it. Go to Spikeit and get some Mylar and some bond coat, coat the Mylar with the bond coat, let it dry. Lay it across the mold where you want it and shoot the bait. You will have to trim off the flashing and may be dip it after the eyes are on. There won't be any stretch in these baits due to the Mylar not being flexible. Takes a bit of doing but is possible. Then you will have chrome. Just keep and open mind.
  11. So when I order from del I get put on the back burner? I pay full retail and up front. I am sure Lurecraft gets a discount. Every time I ordered it took at least four weeks to get a mold. That was a fast time some have been six months and I had to beg to get it.
  12. The only time I use it is when my plastic has been heated for more than thirty minutes. Other than that I don't add it at any time.
  13. I was talking to Don the owner of spike it and he told me he could make it so it could be added to hot plastic. He did. To him it was not magic just the knowledge of how to do it.
  14. This is the same stuff unless baitjunkies has started to make there own. Seems like they take great care in packaging it. Wondering if the date is the repackage date or the manufacture date? If you have been experiencing yellowing after two reheats I would check my temps carefully it should take longer than that. If you inject baits you could go as low as 280 and still get a great bait. I know it will be hard to mix but it will shoot. Reheat just enough to shoot again and no hotter. Degassing is basically for the first heat. After that most are getting bubbles that are self inflicted by stirring. Worth it yes but when you stir it time and time again it could come back. Shaking the jug is not good either as this will cause some issues too.
  15. I add all there colors to hot plastic. Even the flouresants. Never had any problems doing it.
  16. Spikeit colors are pretty much all I use. They are thick but not so thick you can't mix them pretty easy. Had some of them for more than a year and no bad settling. I buy pints or larger so getting them to mix back up is easy. The price is about the best out there. And if you need a color just call and they will have or will make one that works for you. They have heard of everything by now. I have some that I use a lot and everytime I reorder I get the same color. That is priceless to me.
  17. Maybe start out without plastic and mix colorant only. The color will change a bit when added to plastic but at least you will be in the nieghbor hood.
  18. The standard is 5/8" and most have them that size. You will find many injectors for sale with a few different ideas. The most important one to me is one with a tip that locks on.Some have thin walled tubing and then others may have thick walls. Not sure that it makes a big difference I have both and don't see a big difference other than the thinner walled ones gets hot fast. Kinda makes it uncomfortable to hold on to. But a good pair of glove would be needed. I use thinner ones that fit my hands better. I use mostly Basstackle injectors and if you plan on doing laminates they have a great two color system that can be taken apart and used as singles. This will save you money in the long run. Free shipping is not bad either.
  19. I don't think he is saying his way is broken but just letting everyone know his results. That thing looks pretty stout and could handle what he is doing with it. I've seen videos of tips falling off and those silicone cups that are so soft they can barely hold them selves up. Heck even seen a video that's shows an injector being purged with the nozzle pointing straight up just to get air out. Didn't seen safe to me but to each his own. Cami thanks for sharing. And I am real sure it would cost an arm and leg to get an injector where you live.
  20. So you are adding it to paint and not plastic? Added to plastic it does not bleed but adding plastic colorant to paint you are on your own. I know the pigment is interchangeable( in raw form) but don't think it is when it is made for coloring plastic.
  21. Spike it has a hot pink that does not bleed which is also the color used in bubble gum. There flor orange does not bleed either. You can call any of the suppliers and ask which of there colors bleed and they will tell you.
  22. Basstackle does not and will not sell them. Kevin has great respect for his cousins design and will not sell them. They can be bought on Bobs site at btsmolds.com. I am sure this was just a misunderstanding.
  23. It's not me neither. Even Carolina Mike said something. But way back when it came out someone hear said it was glass beads. I posted where to find them. There was even a thread on caney creeks forum but got lost if you know what I mean. Got to give it to Jason putting softener and glass beads together in one package. He deserve the credit.
  24. So if you look up the thread caney creek sinking additive and see the post where I said to to google bead blasting media and that I got mine from harbor freight that is where this stuff started. After that people tried all kind of products.
  25. That was posted here at TU was it not? You were on the thread too.
