Well said and that is good for them. I think more players is more fun. I feel the same about the companys I use and wont change to save a penny. I have talked to Don and was real impressed with his down to earth answers. I cant wait to meet him at Icast in a few weeks. Frank

Yes you can do this. Just put the block on so the colors come out side to side and it will work great. Frank

Ya the last bit of info is real important because I cant even get close to that. Mine are always at 400. Frank

I have 6 presto pots and none of them will heat a gallon in 20 minutes. Is there something in iowa that makes it heat faster? Frank
-
You are right I do rest the cup on the edge of the mold. Good eyes. Thanks for watching Frank

Looking for a couple of dels 5" Chub E open pour molds. Will pay a very fair price for ones in good condition. Pm me if you want to make a deal. Frank

All of the mold makers mentioned before are good mold makers. The one that was called snakehead is actually Jacobs baits and has great customer service also and is a pleasure to work with. If customer service is an issue they will all take care of you good. For doing two colors Basstackle Twinjector is real easy to use and will break down into two single injectors with ease. I have a few videos in the tutorial section using this if you want to see it in action before you buy. Free shipping from him is a real plus on orders over 39 bucks. Most of them actually make there own products so you are getting them from the actuall maker which is nice. Take you time and research well, you will be rewarded for the time you spend. Frank

Just did that tonight. I had a quart pyrex and only heated it once and set it in a griddle. I boosted the heat by remelting sprues and adding them back in. Hot plate is an open element and heat might be a bit to much. Just to let you know I filled six molds 8 times so it did take awhile. Frank

It take a tremendous amout of heat to get a Basstackle injector to have a thin plug. That being said when you get it there it is real hot and very uncomfortable to use that way. I have put my Twinjector in prestos and never had to clean them until was done but that is when I am shooting gallons. Thin wall injectors heat faster but loose heat just as fast. I did it like you are for a long time and still do. If you inject faster you might get a smaller plug but then there maybe other issues with that. Frank

I had him make me a tip with a bigger hole and it works much better. I use the smaller one to inject his molds. The Twinjector has a much bigger hole. Frank

Seems you already might have figured this out. I posted a few pics in the gallery of that same bait. I used the Twinjector. On the trout I painted the pink pearl line down it and dotted it with black. Frank

I posted a video of how to do this in the tutorial section. And yes it is a multistage process. You can make the blades yourself but it might be easier to but one first then copy it. Lure craft has them. It is nothing more than a piece of metal shaped like a fish and a tail made of a colorado blade soldered on the tail section. i the video I show the blaade close up I believe. It is more of a continues movement than a pause and go. Let me ask how long can you inject before it clogs. I would like to know. I can empty out two 6oz injectors and the block will still drip at the end. I dont pause much. Frank

You can never go wrong with the 3 oz. It would be my first choice if I started over again. Fuzzy is right on the 6 oz one it will at first just cause more reheat material. The locking tips are a big plus for ease of use. You will know if you dont have it and will want it. To be real honest the jacobs injector with the tapered tip works the best of all. I does never get stuck in the mold and will work on any mold out there. When I say gets stuck I mean when you inject the plastic on the tip cools at mold and causes a little stick when you lift. Locking tips prevent you lifting and pulling the tip off and having plastic run all over your table or worse all over you. With a tapered tip it does not happen. I have at one time had them all and they are all good products. My opinion is just that. I use mine alot but mostly the Twinjector which is Basstackles. Free shipping from Kevin is not bad either. I think MF watermelon is way closer but LC watermelon is real strong and hard to make transperant like that. Let me know and I can send you some of both to see what you think. I have Bears to if you like. If you want mess around try adding blue and just a tick of yellow to darken it up. Whos black do you have? If it is LCs it is strong and real hard to make it dark and keep it transperant. Red Yellow and blue can make any color you want just differant amounts. Black and white to shade. Frank

Are you saying the picture does not look like a swirl or you dont call it a swirl. Cause they all look a bit differant or is it my computer? But if you want something that looks like the picture the way I said to do it will do that. There will be no change of direction just pulsing from one to the other. And no you dont have to run around your mold while injecting but them that may be a swirl. Frank

You can call del and he will get you some o rings. He has two in his injectors one on the tip and one on the plunger. I have the eye drop shot mold and the 3 is plenty large enough. I think if you are just starting out the 3 is easier to use at first. Just fill ALL the way up and shoot. With the 6 it takes alot of plastic to fill all the way up. Most people that start this dont make alot of plastic at first and try and fill the injectors half way, this just causes problems with bubbles and cooling. You will notice when you have alot of plastic it works better. It must be the amount of heat there is. Frank

Two ways to get it. One is to take off the top cross bar and pulse the injectors one at a time . Two is to loosen the top cross bar and pulse this will give you a tighter swirl. The second ways is easier to fill the Twinjector otherwise you have two handles to fill one at a time. Frank

Now that did not take long to air that one out. Time is money so it may take some of that too. Sometime you dont want to post everything, never know who is looking. Some people have good ideas that are taken from them by people who dont have there own. When the time is right I am sure it will be posted. Frank

This subject is not new it is just public now. As soon as the Twinjector was built I was planning a 3 color one. This is a learnig forum and if this is as good as it gets then just quit trying. I never will believe that so I will go on and keep trying. World hunger that is a differant forum and I am not a member. Mark you want a hollow frog ,that has been done but then not on the mold you have. Or maybe it has. That is a differant subject too. I posted this here so I did not highjack the other post. Vodkaman love the idea and the work you put into it. That is not what was in my mind but it looks great and the concept of one block with three ways to use it. Fresh ideas are what makes this forum tick. Frank

I am in the same boat with work no time to play. Honestly though Kevin is working on one but he is busy too so dont know how it is going. Since I posted this I have had a few ideas go through my head but no time to work on it. I was going to post this on the other thread nut did not want to high jack it. Posting the pics like this just gets peoples minds going and maybe some great idea will come of it. I remember when the blending block was looked at as a waste of time and to many parts and it wont work. Now that that is settled a year later it seem to be the standard. I remember when you asked me a few questions on how I use it, now you got it and it is just another tool in your tool box of tricks to make customers happy. I have to admit I use two colors 80% of the time 3 and 4 would be probably less than 10% of the time but still having the ability to do it is good. Frank

One note on the three color version it does not comeout equal the single side is 50% the other two share the second half. I believe you have to sell it to the fisherman first or it will never get in the water. New baits are like that too, if you come out with a bait and try and market it some times does not come out so good but let the big guys do the same and see the differance.
-
Here is a few pics of how to use blending blocks to achieve real custom work. I does help if you are an octopus. Two color Three color Four color Dont see how some can do it with injectors that are not together. But maybe someone will show us how they do it. Frank

Looks alot like Kevins work. Actually looks alot like a mold he has with wings and arms added. His locating pins are round like that too. Just a guess though. Frank http://www.basstackle.com/Twin_Tail_Grub_4_5_p/201-1-1.htm
