  1. That though was going through my mind tonight. Way beyond my capability. That would be a mold specific for any thing but a worm. I made a really cool one that will do my two stick molds while they are clamped together. It still have two sprues but in the same block. Frank
  2. Your pm is full and cant send you a pm. Pm me your email and I will send you an invoice. Thanks Frank
  3. I have two bears 3.75 twitchy mold for sale 35.00 each shipped also have one 7" twitchy 43.00 shipped Last I have one beast mold 55.00 shipped this one has a stiff hinge but shoots fine. All mold are in good shape and shoot fine. If you want pics I can post but these are pretty common molds. Pay pal welcome thanks for reading Frank
  4. If you ask my wife the only thing I have ever been right about is marrying her. The sinking plastics out right now do require less salt and will pour at a real low temp when under pressure. But this is new and yes there will be issues but it is a machine that was built by the person that will be able to address problems and concerns as they arise. Will it be perfect No but it looks like a good start. Frank
  5. good point. But it is nice to see someone trying to do it and not just talking about it. I am not saying it is the cats meow but I will give it a try before I put it down. Frank
  6. You hit it right on the head with that one. Once it is hot add more hot plastic and reheated sprues back into the pot and go again. One of the issues with injection machines is what to do with sprues this one makes it easy to just add it back. I will be getting the one in this video and i believe all others will be the new version. Frank
  7. I have talked to him a little bit about it. As of now it takes 20 to 30 minutes to heat up to temp. This is the prototype and the newer one will be insulated in a box to help heat it up faster. It hold a quart of plastic. I knida like the hand stir way, my thinking is you will introduce less bubbles that way just stir and shoot. Right now that is what I do anyways. A bottom pour is new for me though. I will post a review when I get mine in a couple of weeks. Frank
  8. It was made on my hand mill. It is not as smooth as I would like but it works. The 4" one is the standard one that fits most of my molds. I sent Kevin a pic last week and he said it was differant than what he was thinking but the shared sprue is easy. The top of the molds does not make much differance because the plastic flows to the least resistance which is tha largest opening. By then the plastic is the small crevises is set and wont leak. I work with tools all day long and these ideas come pretty easy. Having a mill and lathe at home helps alot. Frank
  9. I see alot of people selling off there hand pour molds to get injection molds. Dont, with one simple adapter you can inject them with ease. I got this idea when I ordered an 8 cavity mold with individual sprues so I can laminate them. I told him I was going to work on an adapter to fill all at once. This is what I came up with and it works great. Here are two sizes and the 4" one works on most of my molds. There is not much to it. Frank

    First Try

They look good and if the fish see the over pour they are lookng to hard. If you want to keep the schrincage down try pouring with cooler plastic. Just a little cooler though. Frank
  11. I have heard about this one for a while and it is out now. No it is not a two color but I hear one is in the making. Price seams a little better to me. Frank http://stores.jacobsbaits.com/-strse-54/Injection-press-for-bait/Detail.bok
  12. Yes Del you are right it is out there but not in my Shop. I do shoot alot but dont want it to be like a JOB. Frank
  13. The whole thing is a heat sink. If you seal off the shaft end it will be hard to fill it. The plug at the end is just a thing that we all have to deal with unless you want to inject with an injector that is 350 deg. The thicker the aluminium the more heat it will hold but then most of us dont keep the plastic in the injector that long. Would love to see someone come up with a solution that does not require a hot injector. Frank
  14. This is a Basstackle.com mold it is available in three sizes a 3 3/4,5 and 7" versions. Here is the link to the 3 3/4 one. http://www.basstackle.com/product_p/3.75swimbait2.htm
  15. Looks like a great idea. Thanks for sharing. Frank
  16. Well one thing that I cant believe is that an injection mold fills from the bottom to the top. When hand pouring it is almost a must but to me I think it fills the cavity and pushes the plasitc to the end. I will have to work on that. Thanks Bear for the reasoning behind your way. That is the best reason I have heard. What if the mold is old and does not shoot well any tips on how to vent an old mold. Is there some kind of pattern? Frank
  17. No Del those shoot fine it was just the picture I had that was a great example of what I am talking about. Let just say the top one had a paddle at the end of the claw. That is where I get bubbles but mostly in the upper most one. But if it was made with a top sprue I have no issue at all. It is almost like the cavity fills then it trys to push the air and plastic back up to the upper most part of the mold. Thanks for the honesty Del, so it seams it is just what people want and not a design have to. I have alot of molds that I request to have top pour for this reason. Alot of them have an oversized sprue and really like that I dont have to top off. As for laminating with the top sprue, I dont have an issue with it at all. I have put an adapter on a Jacobs mold with the twinjector on top, the plastic went through all of that and down the mold then up to the baits and still gave a great laminate. Where it enters doesnt seem to matter even if it is a long way. Some work but some dont. Sucking air into the injetors when you are getting low on plastic is an art to master, you just slow down and go slow when filling. But that is not what I am talking about. Frank
  18. So is this any differant. Both the same maker. The one on the bottom is a top pour the top one is the one in question, NOT that mold but that design. Seams to me that the baits that have larger apendages up high in the mold get bubbles. I know I am not the only one with that issue because I have talked to a few guys that have the same problem but were told they have to learn how to shoot the mold.
  19. Just wanted to see if anyone could give me a good reason to have a mold with a 90deg port to fill a mold. I have talked to most of the mold makers and really have not gotten a good answer. On some of the molds I get bubbles in the upper most portion of the baits. Not a big deal with one color but with laminates it is. I rarely get these type of bubbles on a top pour mold, single cavity or multicavity. This is not a whos is better thing because they all make them like that. Just wanted some other thoughts on the subject. Frank
  20. I have one Dels 4"cc and one 4"cl for sale. I will take 50.00 for the cc TYD and 65.00 for the cl TYD. Just dont fit a need right now. Pay pal only Please.Frank
  21. I have made a tip like you want. I put it in my lathe and tapered it to a cone, it still is 5/8 on the top but after 1/8 " it starts to taper. Ask kevin if he can taper a tip like that for you. Then you will have a spare tip you can use on any mold you have. Frank
  22. Dont know what size you want but here is one. http://stores.jacobsbaits.com/-strse-52/jerkbait/Detail.bok . He has them smaller and has made them bigger. Frank
  23. Just a young man with a dream. Gotta hand it to you, you do try. Dont give up but dont show anyone either, people will take your idea and not even look back. Start small and build up. You have alot of time. Good info on the exise tax Smallie because the irs does not care how old you are they just want theres.
