  1. You know I asked a question that I though was a good one and got alot of good info. Now it has become another head game that is going to get it deleated. I started looking on this site because it has alot of great info. Seams lately people just want to ruin a good site over egos. Thanks to all that had something constructive to say. Maybe the moderators can delete the info that is not important. Frank
  2. Got a bears 7.5"twin tail lizard mold if you are interested. Frank
  3. This is what I am finding but the only thing that was changed in my case was the flake and when I changed back it did nothing just like before. So when people say that it has to do with reflectability maybe that flake was more reflective. As for time in the micro I heat up my plastic add color then flake and set it on a griddle. When I need to heat it up again is when it happens but the flake is settling to the bottom. Del your black holi is your best kept secret dont go telling everybody about it. Actually all of your holis are great looking. Frank
  4. I heat all of the colors in the micro. I tried cutting off thee clumps of glitter and mix in later and it still sparked. Random but still did. I think I will go back to the old supplier and settle this. I actually got the new order in yesterday. Thanks Frank
  5. That one is an injection also. If you bought his injector you will love it. Frank
  6. Thanks for the replys guys. The only thing that I changed here is the glitter so that is why I went that route. The cups like I said are about a year old. Del thanks for the clump info. I will cut the clumps off and and add them slowly. I cant see how in time would the sparking would be OK because the bottom of the cups now have chips missing. Just never had an issue like that before. Thanks Frank
  7. MF manufacturing has it listed. Frank
  8. Without a picture of the mold let me say if it has one place to put plastic in then you need an injector. If there is six then you can hand pour. Depending whos mold it is will designate who you will need to get the injector from. Basically if it is a mold from jacobs you will need to get his injector. I think pretty much all others will fit each other. His tip on his injector is smaller to fit his molds. Maybe you could post a pic of the mold just to make sure. Hope this helps. Frank
  9. I guess I kinda did that. The cups are about a year old and never had flaws in them before. The flaws are very noticable now. The sparks are very noticable in the micro. Last night I put a left over piece in with the flake settled to the bottom. It sparked almost imediatly and was heated in less than 20 sec. but just the bottom portion. I have some black from the same place but dont want to waste more plastic. I ordered more of that too. Frank
  10. I just opened a new red flake jar to replace the old one and it is sparking in the micro. It has already destroyed two pyrex cups by putting chips in the bottom from the sparks. I am not talking about one or two sparks either alot of them. I already ordered more from the old source but want to know if anyone has had the same problem. And no I did not by it at a craft store. Thanks Frank
  11. Rick at jacobs is pretty easy to work with too. A big plus is his main thing is pan fish stuff. Frank
  12. Jacobs Baits has the most, but Basstackle has a category titled small baits. Also Bears site has some but you have to look good as they are in seperate areas but they are there. Hope this helps Frank
  13. Injection molds usually have one port to fill all of the cavitys. Hand pours have one port for each cavity. I do inject hand pours all the time maybe to get a laminate or swirl. I am sure there are some exceptions but for the most part this is true. When they are sold it usually say what type it is. Frank
  14. Dumb questions are the ones that never get asked. No injection molds need pressure to fill the cavity. Although I have never tried it I can see it wont fill the cavity before it starts gelling up. As for mold the are hand pour I have not had one that I could not fill with my pot. Hope this helps Frank
  15. PM me what you think is bulk and I will let you know. Frank

    Tube with flared skirt

One of the members wanted to know if there was a tube with a flared skirt. The skirt was injected then slid up a mandrel and dipped.
  17. Welcome this is a great site to learn. Frank
  18. I have an induction heater but you might have to make the adapter out of steel. Induction heaters work better with steel. I will have to try it on brass and see what happens. Frank
  19. I dont think it is nutty. I did the same thing to mine. Thanks for posting. I now know some of my ideas are not so far out there now. Frank
  20. No really a pot from say a mart type store. With a plate like that maybe a two quart one with a non stick coating so it cleans easily. A handle is just some thing that will be in the way so no handle is a good thing. Frank

    Super Hog

I have one that was made by a guy on this board. I dont think it is available with those tails but Basstackle has a fat body hog that is real close just not the tails. Hope this helps. Frank
  22. I have both of those and they look pretty good when done. The skirt does not go to a point like the yamamoto does, but has the same look in water. He has a mold that has the skirt on it but told me he might not offer it. He also has a diamond tip skirt that gives a little more bulk in the water with even more action. The yamamotos is two pieces also isnt it? Frank
  23. I have this mold and what I do is maybe on the contrary to what you are doing. My plastic is about 310/320 not to hot and not smoking. I fill my injector all the way up and shoot at a medium to slow speed. With the twinjector I do the same but more of a medium pace with the plasic maybe a bit cooler 300/310. I get way more bubbles with hot plastic. If you dont have a temp gauge it is a real good idea. Another tip is on the injector make sure it is clean and the seal is good so you dont suck up air when you fill it. I some times get some plastic between the seal and tube, this causes it to suck air with means you will inject it into the cavity. I have a habit to watch the cup and make sure it fills up completely. There is alway a little air in there but it usually goes to the top. Another reason to not use all of the plastic in the injector. The last bit will have air. I have a two cavity but I started with a single. I also shoot this mold weekly to fill a standing order. So if I can help more just post the results. Hope this has helped Frank
