  1. Sorry to here that I am sure that it will be soon. Not to rub it in but mine showed up today. I told him not to worry about mine till he was caught up so I am sure it will be soon. Going out right now to pour a few. Hang in there. Frank
  2. I was not putting up this video to have a contest on whos is better or easier. I put it up to show another way it can be done. And to respond to price lets do it right One sells for 99 and if you want a single you have to buy another one. With the one for 159 you dont so is there a real differance? MY original idea was to make an adaptor like the one on the twin unit. But when all is said and done this one is more consistant from bait to bait. My opinion on production would be get the right tool to do the job as fast as you want. But that is just me cause if it was me doing production work this would not even be something I would even consider. If there is a better way in your mind please share, sometimes when you get an idea out people will help you. One last note on production, Bear is having a get together in a few weeks and I think he is giving a preview on a new injector and has a two color one in the works. A pressure type pot that his machinist has developed maybe that is more of what is more suitable for your situation. I just dont see a hand injector in the same sentence as true production. That is my opinion. It is a hobby for me and did not intend this thread to be a whos is better than whos post. Thank You all for looking Frank
  3. This post from bob is spot on. I have been using differant spraying type guns for more than thirty years and can get pretty much any gun or brush to do what i want. I would venture to guess I can get a full size gun used to paint cars and paint a bait. But I use them alot. So getting one and using it is the best bet. Buying a quality brush is always a good thing cause there really is a differance.
  4. No I just had one mold out in this video.I have shot three molds at a time. I did see the bear video before I bought this one but there was a question on how long I can keep my plastic hot. For me I cant even come close to the time that was on that video. And the taking of both colors at the same time and the even pressure seemed to me a little easier. Not the it matters but if you dont have an injector and want this unit it does come apart so you can use only one injector. No need to buy another. As for cumbersome bears is three parts and this one is two. And the mods to the tips make evacuating the unused plastic a breeze. Like I said in the video the tips dont fall in the hot plastic. My dream station will have two presto pots side by side so I can keep the unit in the hot plastic and use it to no end. These are just my opinions and I do not own one of bears but some day I will. This is just a differant idea from a differant person. Frank
  5. Now let me say that I only paint swim baits from 4" and up so I use a 5or8 to base coat. Then change to a 3or5 for scales. Then for datails I use a 2or3. To be real honest i dont use a 2 very much. I have to many brushes though. In my opinion though a 3 or 5 is a good choice for a one brush shop. These will cover most situations. Frank
  6. The camera is a cheapey one my wife bought from qvc at xmas time it works ok as long as you dont move it. I think she paid like thirty bucks for it and boy it is a breeze to upload to your computer. The first video my daughter held it in her hand, It looked like the blair witch movie. I think all of you would be sick after watching it.
  7. Bass Tackles 5" swim bait And Thank You for the kind words all.
  8. Try jacobs baits .com He has a few.
  9. Well the clear you dont have to worry about it is the catalyst. Buy it in the smallest portion possible. And when storing it keep the temp as consistant as possible so you will get a long life out of it . Now I have not said how long because it depends on your temp and humidity in your area. We use our so fast it is not an issue but at home it does go bad once in a while. Frank
  10. Yes you are right 27 is good. The 60 may work for an open pour though never thought of using it like that.
  11. I ordered mine last week and I am going to try it out.
  12. Let Me just say one word Kodak. The ink is a little cheaper. And let me clear up one thing as I said in my first post he wanted me to pay the fee but I did not make the order. I have a sign over my head that says sucker not stupid. SO I DID NOT PAY THE FEE OR MAKE AN ORDER. Frank
  13. The insert is actually a keel weight with a hole through it so a hook can be mounted below the bait(like a treble). When the bait is taken by a fish the body of the swim bait is free to slide up the line and not stay in the mouth of the fish. The added cost is there but when the bait is not good any more you can use the weight over again. Bob and Kevin are actually cousins. Must be nice to have the talent that these guys have.
  14. Six weeks for me to get my order from that sale and had to call to get it. On these sales it seems that if customer service is not your strong suit why would you have a sale to make it more apperant. Hey and how about the free shipping for orders over 49 bucks. I think that is a big plus to. As most of you can tell I do email him quite often and he said he is busy but has it under control. I have never met him but in time I am sure I will. He actually listens to you when there is an issue with one of his products. I am sure in the next week most of the orders will be filled. Frank
  15. If you think that is bad you sent me a quote that you were going to charge me 5.00 to a 55.00 bill. For using pay pal. Who is doing who? Ck your messages it is there but the order is not.
  16. All right you got me chomping at the bit. You posted some pics of the molds I ordered so now I am in envy. Nice looking baits. I am sure there were more of you that got your molds also so post some pics too. One question did you order some more inserts for the white ones? Frank
  17. I am no expert but here is a video that might help some people out on the two color injector. As you can see it is pretty simple. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=1iwfu8XL_VY
  18. The list you will have will not be very long. I have to many but here is what I have. A rod lathe with thread carriage to hold 8 spools of wrapping thread. A four rod drier. A 4x8' table to set up rods and place guides. A mini lathe for turning cork and reel seats. That is about all I have for rod biulding,I have been building for 14yrs or so and have a rod repair bussiness that does about 3grand a year in repairs for one tackle shop. Be prepared to pay you excise tax on these also, blank purchases are real easy to track not like plastics or jigs. If you get a chance there is a get together in woodland,WA in april a good place to be for meeting people in the know and even the best supplier I have dealt with will be there. Good Luck on your new adventure.
