Pouring it in a bowl and mixing it with a blender is ok. But are you absolutely sure you got all the stuff that settles on the bottom of the jug in the mix. Shaking it will not loosen it up all the time. When you say sticky, most of the time it is not mixed well enough. And if you feel what you are doing is to much maybe try and change what you do for that plastic. Gallon jugs are not really ideal for plastic that needs to be mixed well evertime. Getting something on the bottom of the container and making sure there is no sludge is very important for any plastisol. I see some guys say heating is important to this plastic you may need to check your initial temp very carefull. I use Spikeit plastic and never get mine above 340 without an issue. Mine is mostly around 330 initial heating. One other thing to remember when getting plastic from someone who repackages it it can be say inconsistent. Getting plastic from a company who makes it is always your better bet.

Study this mold and it makes more sense. The lower two cavity’s have the vents that lead to holes in the mold.

My thoughts are when the first two tails fill out the last one has no way to vent. Try drilling a hole through the mold in the vent of the last tail. Thus the air will be released after the first two fill. Does not need to be large but does need to be at the tip of the tail.

Silicone molds will not give you the small detail you are looking for. The small legs out the side can only be done with two piece cnc molds.

Which Spikeit product did you try? If you use there solvent paint you should be fine. Not the dye type.

Ya that one will be a side to side type. Laminate plate will not work for a top to bottom laminate. You can get that mold from Basstackle.com. Then as said before you will need a Twinjector.

You will need to explain what type of mold you want. Most of them that size are side to side type molds and a laminate plate will get you a side to side laminate. Get you a Twinjector and you will be able to do what you want on many many molds.

Not sure where you read about adding colors after but it does matter who you buy your colors from. With Spikeit colors I can add after. All others at least for fluorescents add before or they might say coagulate and not mix in well. With Spikeit floresent pink I use 30ccs to 4 cups plastic. It turns out a pretty opaque color. So my opinion is you have not used nearly enough. One note all colors are not created the same so this will work for this brand of color. Others will be way different.

The color will not be the same when you use the floating media. They are white. Just a warning.

You could but there nothing like making sure all of it is off the bottom and mixed in. Get something that you can scrape the bottom well. You really want to make sure it is all mixed up.

If you are going to continue what was being done before with the same plastic then there is no question about having to degass. Many guys want it done. Is it another step yes for for you. Will it take time yes. Will it cost you more money to get the equipment to do it yes. But that is what it will take to carry on what was done before. I have been doing it for myself for years and for me it was a no brainer to get my own equipment. I have told anyone who wants to do it how to and even posted a picture of my set up here before. But some will not want to do it and it is up to you to acomidate them or send them to another supplier that does it for them. I don’t know what the sales ratios of degassed to standard sale were but if you don’t offer it then in my mind you are loosing out. You must be open to what others want and change if necessary. It is not weather you see a benefit in it it is if your customer does. Already on this post people have given another supplier that does this for them. Do you want to lose even more customers?

One other thing I forgot to mention is a cooler bait is more durable than a hot one. Extra inserts are a good thing.

My advise would be to get ahold of a basstrix bait and measure it. In my video the blade was flat with sorta sharp edges. From the tail to the main body it was about 2.5 to 3 times the height. With yours being round it would be easier on the plastic. I get a lot of comments about not taking off that bait in the video I should do another one and show how it comes off. One day.

You need to know the temp until you get use to your microwave and heating cycles. You can’t even imagine the problems you won’t have if you get one. Knowing the temp is key. Dents, color changing,yellowing,sticky baits and many more. Adding heat stabilizer does not do any good if you over heat it. Plus when it is fresh plastic it is in there. The reason for adding it is to replenish it when burned off while keeping it up to temp.

Go to an auto body paint supplier and get wax and grease remover. It works great on the molds and your work bench too. As long as it is metal. Just wipe it on and use clean towel to dry. You will love it.

Well you can blame me them because a long time ago I asked if they could start shipping with Usps and they did. The only other option was ground ups. That’s a week and a half for me to get even a small order. I understand how frustrating it can be when you need something and it gets delayed. If you do not use them in the future you will be missing out on some really great products. Not that this will make you feel better I ship with Usps all the time and this week I send out a package to the same address and it said 3 days. When I got my email notification of acceptance it said delivery Saturday, that’s four days. But don’t be surprised if you get it earlier than Friday. I am hoping you get it tomorrow.

Exhibit is in the gallery. Until now you did not discuss how you did it. But thank you for sharing your knowledge of how it is done. I have found one thing here in all the years I have shared, you can tell them how it is done and very few will actually take the time to put in alll the hard work to do what you do. Doing this to make something of it takes a lot of time and effort. Unless you sit down and spend hours and days doing it no one will understand how hard it really is. That tray of baits took him in my opinion hours to make. Not very many people want to invest that kinda time to do it. I respect that cause I have spent the hours and days to make baits for people. So if I understand right you bought the 3oz Twinjector, now just buy another 6oz one and you can swap them out when you need more volume. I think it is easier to learn with the 3oz Twinjector and then move up. It does take a little getting use to. And funny you say won’t make two color baits anyways, but that’s what you say now. 95% of what I shoot in two colors. I am so use to it when I shoot a Single Color I still use the Twinjector.
