  1. There was one that just sold on ebay for under $700. Not many people knew much about the company but it was made for plastic. Wenesco in the name.
  2. Which split is it the 3.5 or the 4.2 and do you still want a fs6?

He makes some real nice stuff .I know you will be real happy. I have never had a problem with his stuff, but then again I have not had a problem with anybodys molds. His comunication with me has been great and really wants his customers to be happy. With a sale like this as we all know service will be challanging so a little patience will pay off in the end. Dont let this chance get away.

    2 For 1

Got an email from Bass Tackle tonight they are having a 2 for 1 this week end only. So now is the time. Just a heads up.
  5. Sorry to here you got out bid but someone got a good deal.
  6. The tips come out pretty easy and they are held in by o rings. This unit is real easy to hold cause they are held together like they are one piece but as you can see they are two injectors.I put my hand in the middle and use my thumb to support the top bridge from moving when I change molds. The middle bridge is a block of aluminium machined to fit like a glove and the top one keeps the pressure equal in both injectors so you get real consistant baits. It truly is a real plearure to use and I wish I had more molds to keep on going. Frank One other thing there is plenty of places to hold it while they are filled with plastic so I use light gloves.

    Swim baits

I would have never thought I could do this at home. Boy am I happy
  8. That a way guys got some good info here and now it is getting real specific this will help out many people that have thought of what to buy. Bob good info on the needle size . Wcgood good info on the differant paint out there laquer has not been available here in cen cal for so long I forgot about the fast drying points.
  9. No what I mean is the weight of the plunger will push down. This is so smooth it will slowly settle back down.
  10. Well I will tell you you have to keep the plunger from pushing plastic out but I can do three molds berfore I have to stop. This injector is the smoothest one I have. That is why you have to support the plunger. The adapter piece is easy to clean and it does not mix the plastic so it has two tubes one of each color. Last night I poured some swin baits and could get three pours before I had to reheat the colors. From one mold too.

    Swim baits

Day two with the new injector. Better than i could ever imagined.
  12. You know one thing that has not been brought up is what are you planning on painting a crank or a swim bait. I paint swim baits of which the smallest one is 5". So in my mind it would take me way to long to paint one with a gravity with say a 2 needle. So my view may be differant just because of what I paint. How about you guys what is the largest bait you paint?
  13. To some people bigger is better. I really want to see what it can do.
  14. Got my new twin injector today. This is a new product from one of our sponsors Bass Tackle. It will inject two colors or you can take it apart and use one. The design will let you load two colors at once from the pyrex cups. It is real easy to use and as you can see it is nice and sturdy. He also has an adapter so you can use your own injectors if they are the right size. I am pretty happy with the quality if my baits now. I guess this is just a shameless plug but it is a nice unit I just had to share. I even posted some pics in the gallery if you would like to look.

    Injected jig skirts

This is my first jig with two skirts I made with a mold from bass tackle. One is a diamond skirt and the other is the 3 3/4 straight one. The diamond one was injected with his twin injector.Half orange half black.

    1st laminate new injector

This is my first laminate with a new twin injector from bass tackle.
  17. Opening bid was 500 so that is not far. The retail is around 3600. We will see.
  18. Well said Bob and I really think both is the best deal so a choice is not needed. Clamboni that is almost what I do but with water paints it takes a little longer. I have had my badger so long I wonder if I will see some differances in the long term with water in it. It has been used with solvent paint for more than 18yrs. Just a thought.
  19. We will see how good of a deal it is when it is over.
  20. Well I have both and use both and the gravity fed are easier to use but I really dont think they are easier to clean. In fact I can clean my badger 150 in half the time easy. Now let me explain before I am bombarded with on the contrary posts. The badger 150 comes with a side cup sort of like a gravity but on the bottom. When you want to change colors drop he cup in the water and rinse the fluid passage. The passage in this brush is large enough to clean very well unlike my iwata which is real small and harder to get clean at least for me and my standards of clean. Now I have had my badger for over 20 years and never had a problem. I have never even rebuilt it. Now when I got mine It was a kit that had three needles two jars and the side cup and hose. So all the bases are covered. When I got my iwata it was all seperate. And more expensive. It is a real nice unit but so is the badger 150. I would honestly try to get both cause like Bob said some time you want to spray alot and sometimes you want detail. Not to say that they cant do both but it is alot nicer to just change brushes. One other thing a good brush will last you a life time so buy a good quality one. Alot of copy cats out there and if you are not real good at fixing them they are not worth the hassle. Just my 2c Frank
  21. Nothing wrong with the basic design but my advise is turn it over and put the exhaust on the bottom. Most of the over spray will fall so it is better to put the exhaust there in the first place. And for the fan try mounting it outside the tube then run a belt to the fan unit. This will keep the motor out of the paint/solvents path. When using solvent product safety is first cause like I said before you dont want to know the limit by accident. Like maybe you spill sovents in the booth that is a large amount that might be the limit. Just saying this is for fun keep it safe too. Frank

    Injectors

To be honest I have not been doing this long but to have some spares would not be a bad thing cause you only have one. And I think they are high heat O rings. Cant cost very much.
  23. OK that makes my answer more acurate. With that amount of pot life it does not leave you much time. So try this mix the MB in the thinner resin part usually the yellow one. Then let it set for awhile to let the air rise. This may take a while but it is not mixed yet so it does not matter. When it settles pour it into the other part and mix with a flat type stick and never lift it off the bottom of the cup keep it in contact so more air is not introduced. Now it is ready to pour. I use a one piece mold so I open it up and pour so the micro bubbles are floating and then let goe, so it forces the micro bubbles out the top. If you have a two piece mold I guess this wont work but your pour holes need to be of pretty good size to release these bubbles so you might have to adapt a differant method. This way has reduced my bubbles in the cast part by at least 80%. Hope it works for you.
  24. Before the suggestions are you using Micro baloons or just resin and what resin are you using and how long is the pot life? There are many ways but there many variables. Frank
  25. l Iike he wd40 on the side. Boy that is something that is not good for painting. The reason it is not a problem is that it is on the filter side. I know the motor being explosion proof does add to the cost of building a booth but I would not like to find out the limit of a hazard. And if you think a pre made booth is expensive take into consideration the safety features. I read the topic and took it literally when it said proper.
