  1. Don’t know who’s is really doing that nowadays. That was a thing that use to happen more than it does now.
  2. Some plastic compounds will settle on the bottom it is hard to mix it back in. Thus hard packing. You will need to make sure every time you use any plastic it is mixed well before you remove any from the container it came in.
  3. So you know he did not stir it, even if he knew better and lost money when he had to replace it. Sounds like you only heard what you wanted from that conversation. He sold a lot of plastic for a long time and many brands and you are saying he was not carefull? Anyone that does this knows it need mixing before you use or repackages. Just because he used a drum pump does not mean it is bad. I still use one to this day.
  4. So you know how bear handled his drums? Talking about knowing someone elses business. I am just pointing out that the product they all praise is and always will be available to them.It has been way before anyone started reselling it. It is not something that is new. Calhouns will sell to anyone who will buy a drum. But they dont sell smaller quantities.
  5. Its still calhouns plastic in the end. Maybe bear never took the air out but it was the same stuff. As for knowledge of consistency most of what happens is user error. And now there is a lot of information on the forum about these type of things. I flex my knowledge here to help not to sell.
  6. Yes calhouns is good plastic but baitjunkies is just repackaged not a brand. Funny when bear had it not many were praising it like now. Same stuff different package.
  7. That plastic is Calhoun’s. The same plastic bear used to sell. Just need to find another repackager. Does not make any sense why another plastic company sell there competitors brand.
  8. Do a test for yourself lower the temps and push fast then slow down you will see the line in your bait become more defined. I find myself rushing a bit when shooting these bait and you can see the difference.
  9. I do shoot vertical. I have made some videos on YouTube with those molds being shot. You can see they are vertical and I shoot a lot of them at once. Yes my temps are real close with neither one hotter. Hopefully.
  10. I shoot a lot of those. Sounds to me the temp is to high lower it to the 300-310 range. And when you shoot shoot slow not fast. That Sprue design make a spraying affect if you push fast. When it is right you will see a triangle of the top color at the top of the back of the tail.
  11. Just so you know what you are in for take some time and take a local college coarse on cnc basics. This will give you a better base line to start. Cause believe me it not the machine that makes the molds.
  12. I second this choice. Heard about him mixing colors but never saw one.
  13. You can get it from Spikeit. Thats were he got his from.
  14. Maybe you could call these people and ask them. Looks like they are the manufacturer.
  15. After all the years of being on this forum I have never seen someone post a formula for plastic. You did it just to help and I respect that. The original question was how to make it not the cost. You keep doing what you are doing and your help will come back to you in some form. This forum needs more people that are willing to share knowledge. To be honest it is probably the only post in years that I copy and pasted it to my notes. In fact I copy them both.
  16. Scroll down to page 2 and look at the topics and you will see a couple of recipes
  17. Trying to get accurate weight to some people is a real nesesity. So tell me why everyone tells you teaspoons heaping or not but is every teaspoon the same, I think not. You all seem to have a great scale but no one weighs the salt or media and it would not matter what salt or media you use. I would think this would be the way to go to get more accurate formulas. Heck for that matter when using such small amounts weigh the plastic and all. There would be some differences is molds but way more accurate if you want the weight so close to the original. Then just work with other additives the get the wiggle right. Just the thought I had while reading this.
  18. If you have the art work done or can get it done you can use GotPrint.com. Get the 6x4” post cards and fold them. You will end up with 2x6” headers on the top of the bag. No set up fee if you have the art work and can submit online. I can get some in less than a week.
  19. You mentioned the right temperature, what is the number? lLooks like its to hot and denting. Try lowering the temp a lot , like 300-310.
  20. Value is good but if you have not bought from them before they offer a very strong colorant. This makes it much more of a value than you can believe. I have had a few color I don’t use much and you can see by the separation it is about 80% pigment most others are not even close to that. Now you might say 100 is better but it is hard to mix that way. Most of there stuff like flakes.plastic, paints is made right there. Colorants are brought in and made usable for us by them. If you want a color made they could even make it for you or us if you send in a sample. Many of there colors are made by requests from customers. They cut there own flake and supply a lot of the resellers. I am sure if you want a custom flake they would do it too if you want 100 pounds of it. Great company to deal with.
  21. I agree someone should let someone know. Colors are the same way they change but no one lets you know when it will happen. They could take a little time and repost the description of the plastic a little just for a heads up. Had a guy from Canada text me the other day about the same thing with his plastic, but he bought a large amount of five gallon pails and found it had changed. He was not a happy camper either.
  22. Well now you may have some idea on why it changed. The one I use has changed too but my end product has not.
  23. One of the components needed to be replaced and most all of the plastic does this. Not just Lurecraft but most of them. Can’t member which one it is but does not matter if they all can’t get it anymore. Not there fault.
  24. Lower your temps and keep them close. I know it is hard but when you ge t it, it will all make sense. It’s a viscosity thing if one is thinner it will take over.
  25. Not a bad idea but you won't know if the seals in the spigot will take the plastic chemicals and not give out. My bet would be no they won't. If you buy one make sure and let us know if it works though.
