    A few more

Very nice looking paint jobs on those baits. Can you please share the name of the paint your using. I have been waiting to try to paint a few of my own baits but don't have a clue what type of paint to get to stick on the soft plastic. Another question do you prep the baits prior to spraying them to clean off oil residue that lay on the surface of the baits after they are poured. Thanks in advance. Frank
  6. Jim there is nothing to special about the sexy shad color. Its just pearl white bottom, Center yellow is special its is pearl yellow but I added a hint of dye withing the mix. The dye I am using is made by Silpak. The top is straight pearl blue. How do I inlarge the photo so it comes out bigger on here. I still haven't figured that one out. Jim many more designs coming real some I got a meduim and small version of this bait and a couple of slimmer model that are still in the works. I will post them up once they are completed. One of these days I can graduate and more up the ranks like you guys. That time will come as long as I keep working hard at this craft. Thanks for the cool comments on my baits. Stay tuned in for the other baits. Take care PS. I forgot to answer your question all of my hard carvings are made out of Sculpey Bake Clay. This stuff is real easy to carve up. The only problem with it is if you handle it to long the heat from you hands will make it to soft to work with. If and when this happens stick the clay in the refrigerator for about 15 minute. Remove it and start forming your bait. Once the form is done stick it in the oven at 220 degrees and wait 15 minutes. The heat will cure the clay. Remove the clay let it cool down . At this point you can start sanding and carving to define your details with you hard mold. Now the molding process is another thing but if you need help with this I would be more than happy to help out. I have no secrects like many bait makers I have spoken with that don't even share a simple color recipe let alone tell you how they make there baits. I learned alot of this the hard way and my pockets are now empty but someday it will be my day to shine and if that day don't come I know one thing I will never have to purchase another store bought bait for the rest of my life. Take care Jim. Talk to you soon. Frank Frank
  7. Hello gang check this one out. This bait is Big and Bulky all in the right places. The bait has a total of 3 full ounces of heavy duty plastic in each one. I also made an internal lead insert for the bait that is attached to a Mustad 6/0 heavy wire jig hook. I poured these in some standard freshwater colors. I would differently recommend to set up in line weight when throwing these guys out, The total weight of the bait and insert is 4 ounces. I would recommend the line weight no less than 20 pound test or even better some 30 pound braided line. I will try to shoot up a little video on its swimming action hopefully soon so you guys can see it in action. Well gang let me know what you think. Till next time. More baits are in the works I will post them up once they are completed. Frank

    Alewife Slash Shad

It's fish feeding time. Jim thats what I am talking about nice clean looking pours. I really like the colors scheme on that one. This color will get chewed in both salt and freshwater no problem. Keep em going Jim your work is inspiring. Talk to you soon. Frank
  10. Jim all I can say is fantastic. Those bait will get chewed up here in California for sure. How big is the bait and what is the weight. Kinda curious in trying a few of those out on some saltwater bass. You selling them on your site yet? I would love to try some out. Let me know. Frank (Big Pancho)]
  11. Jim try this color light white pearl belly with just a tad of nutmeg gritter, Center color silver with a touch of turquoise highlight, Top Dark black only. This color will not only slay freshwater fish but saltwater critter as well. Let see it Jim I know got all of these colors in your lab. Can't wait to check them out. Some day I will get all of this pouring thing down. Keep up the great work. Frank

    Big Lake Bait

Mark thanks for the nice comment on the bait. I made a custom lead insert for my bait. It is a little heavy right now but I am currently working on a few other weight molds for this bait. I really would like to insert a tube with just a little weight within the bait in order for it to have the line through set up and to have a nice size treble hook for its belly. But this is something I need to think about making. I am currently playing catch right now with a few others that are in the works. Thanks again for the comment. Till next time. Frank

    New Tube shape Baits

Hello gang check these out. I purchased a do it bullet shape lead head mold last week and grabbed some clay and made up this guy. I think they should swim good. I still have to swim test them. The one thing that is cool is that the three different head from the mold fit perfect on the head of the bait. Let me know what you think of the baits. I can't wait to throw out the rainbow and bass colors to see if I can get some critters to crush them. Till next time. Frank

    My new weedless bait

Phil thank you for the nice comment. I am just a rookie at this bait making thing. But I am getting a better understanding on how these things swim. I carve all my own baits with a bake clay called Sculpey. After forming each bait I make RTV Silicone molds and hand pour each bait with pyrex cups. Again I ain't no pro at this but if you need any help when you get started shoot me a message and I will do my best to help out. This is a great site. There are many pro lure makers on here and there works of art are inspiring. Well Phil thanks again for the comment and I wish you the best of luck. Frank

    My new weedless bait

Thanks Jim on the comment. Still working hard on the baits. I left just a little to much material in the back end of this bait. It still swims great but it wants to spiral on the drop. The fix will be to thin out the material and the spiral should go away. I am still learning with every bait I make but in due time if I keep at it I know I will have a few baits that can and will make a difference once fished. Thanks again Jim. Frank

    My new weedless bait

Hello gang here is a sneak peek at a new weedless bait I have been working on. This bait is still in the works. I am tweaking the bait a bit more to get a little better tail action. This bait swims true with a weighted 8/0 wide gap hook. Let me know what you guys think. Till next time Frank
