Thank Nova for the nice compliment on the bait. Still enjoying this awesome hobby but wished I really had the time to devote to them. My wife is dealing with some major medical issues and this hobby is a great medicine for me to kinda take my mind off of all the negative crap in life. I haven't been able to fish in awhile but when that time comes I am going to have plenty of goodies to feed em. Thank you brother for all of the input and support you have given many of us rookie bait makers on this site. I really enjoy logging on here and seeing all the wonderful creations these brothers make. Carry on brother and God bless you and yours. BP

Hello gang wanted to show you a little special picture that was sent to me by my brother Afan from War Bait swimjigs. He matched up my big creature bait to one of his awesome looking heads. Here is what the pair look like. Getting excited for this new year to unleash a gang load of baits to these checker fish we all love to catch. Afan just came out with a heavier head so I am also going be field testing these out on some bottom dwellers once fishing season opens back up. Now I got to find the time to makes additional molds in order to start pouring these up. Till next time gang. BP

Hello gang I had a little time the other night to play around with some clay and formed up this creature looking thing. I was going to add some legs but decided to leave him alone to see how this darts in the water. A couple other plans came to mind with the body of this new carving. and one will be to give him a little boot tail so he can get his groove in da water. also some craws came to mind. We will see how he comes out here in the near future. Pour on brothers. Till next time. BP

Very nice looking bait. Try shooting a coat of paint on the master and sanding it down with 400 grit wet dry sandpaper. Get the carving as smooth as you can. The smooth the surface the glossier the baits will come out of the silicone mold. Here is another suggestion on the two piece mold cast it with the tail up. Apply the pour spout on the tail section and also an additional vent hole in the mold to let the mold breath. The vent hole will also eliminate the dimple that will form in the mold from it not being vented. Just some food for taught. I ain't no pro at this but learn from my mistakes. I hope this helps you with the mold preparations. Pour on pour on. BP

I use to be sane but burning plastic for the past 3 years has done something to make me insane. I think my wife is going to buy me one of those funny jackets that buttons from the back if I continue making lures. I have not yet made the silicone mold on this girl. Got a call from a good friend who was explaining to me that the v notch in the tail of this lure will not work correctly. I don't really want to waste silicone so what do you guys think do you thing she will swim with the tail she has? I can always fill in the boot tail and I know she will swim with a full tail. Any who you guys have a great day. BP

Howdy Mike its Big Pancho. It was cool chatting with ya on the phone the other day. What I can suggest is purchasing a cheap set of carving tools for that bake clay. You can get a cheap set of the small carving tools for under 20.00 bucks at Micheals. Another tip would be to primer the clay with a thin coat of primer to start than apply more as it dies. If you apply to much primer onto the clay the primer will never dry properly. If you having problems with the clay getting to soft on ya stick it in the fridge for ten minutes. This will allow the clay to harden back up. I am no pro at this but have been playing with clay for about 4.5 years now. You got my number if you get in a jam shoot me another call. Good luck with your projects. Big Pancho

Hello gang I got a little bored last night so grabbed some clay and started forming up this 8 inch bait. He is still in the rough stages I have to drill in some eye sockets and add a couple side fins. I was also thinking about scales but might leave him alone with a smooth body. Stay tuned in gang for some finished pours. Have a great evening. BP

Hello gang just finished the silicone mold for the little bait I posted last week. Here is the very first pour out of the mold. Poured this little guy in a baby bass color. Going to see if I can make some time this weekend coming up to take him for his first swim. Stay tuned in I will post a few other colors on this little guy. Till next time gang. Frank

Hello gang here is a work in progress 8 inch bait. Adding detail on it. I just finished up the lower gill plates and adding a center fin. I still have to drill in some eyeball sockets and place grooves to the fins with a wire wheel and dremel tool. Side 3D fins will follow. He is coming along and will be swimming real soon. Till next time gang. How does that saying go. BUILT IT AND THEY WILL COME!!!! FISH THAT IS. Frank

Hello gang been gone for awhile but had a little time to play around with some clay the other day. This little shad looking bait started to take form. I loaded this little dude up with details. Scales, 1/2 eyeball, front side fins, belly fin, and rear fin, big paddle tail with grooves, big mouth. Well going to see if he gets some attention once I finish up the mold. Stay tune in gang for some finish pours. Till next time. Frank

FishnFreak thanks for the nice compliment on my new slug bait. To answer your questions. All of my creations are made with a bake clay called Scupley. This is the clay master I carved. I like shooting primer and paint on my masters prior to drowning them in RTV Silicone for the finish mold. Most of my baits are made with soft plastic but I also have been playing around with some hard baits. Best of luck to you with your projects and welcome to TU.

Thanks for the nice compliment brother Green Fingers. I really like the body shape of the old school Kalin fat shad body so I grabbed the clay and got to work on forming a body kinda like the kalin swimmer. This is one of my go to baits that has been very successful in attracting them bass to eat. I got a good feeling if I pour this dude up in some freshwater colors I can get them green bass to eat them as well. Thanks again for the compliment on my baits. Frank

Thanks guys for the nice comment on my new bait. It felt good to get back on the baits. I just wish I had abundance of cash and time to throw at them but will have to pace myself and build them when I can. Boomah thanks for the idea about the mylar ballon. Gonna have to give that a try. I had an idea to maybe use some shrink plastic tubing like what you would see on electrical wiring. It should work I think. But will have to also give this a try. Thinking about how I would attach the mylar thou maybe spray glue. The different colors in the mylar might give a transparent color swimbait that extra touch. Now you got my wheels spinning!!! But in a good way. Thanks again guys. Frank
