Hello gang just finished the final details on a new 9 inch skinny swimbait. Looking forward on completing this big boy. Plans are to slice the belly and fish it weedless. Second idea is to design a internal lead and hook set up for him. I got a question for you pros on here. What would be the best way to seal the lead insert. I have seen a thin layer of some type of kervar of plastic wrapping that you would see in a storm swimbait. I have been looking on the internet for something like this but have stuck out on several attempt tp find anything. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Well gang I will shoot up a few finish pours once I get the mold completed. Till next time gang. Frank

Hello gang got a few gallons of RTV last last week and gave life to a few carvings that were screaming to come to life. This one here is a 7 inch mouse bait that also will be going swimming here real soon. I figure I would rig it weedless and use it as a jerk bait. I got a good feeling and mental picture of some green bass attacking him as soon as he hits the H20. Till next time gang. Frank

Hello gang adding these 4 new baits to my arsenal. I am looking forward in seeing some fish lips all over these guys. The third one down got a special little touch to except some fish scent. I should be able to rub the scent between the ribs on the bait. In due time these four will be taking there first swimming lessons. We will have to see if the fish like them. Till next time gang. Happy pouring. Frank

Hello gang its been awhile since I have made any new baits but had some time the other day to pick up the clay again. I felt good to get back on the baits. This one right here sits at 9 inches and is pretty plain looking but he should get the job done. The next one will be full of details. There is almost a full 3 ounces of plastic in each bait. I wanted something bulky to withstand some fish with teeth. Its going to be fun seeing what eats these guys. Well gang check em out and let me know what you think. Till next time gang. Happy pouring. Micheal first and fore most I can respect your opinion and I thank you for the nice compliment. What I should have said is folks should try RTV silicone. I feel it is the best method to make a mold. Now yes its expensive to use but your baits will always come out pristine. Now Micheal I have used and have tried many methods in making my molds cheaper but I do not like having to keep applying a release agent to the inexpensive mold. I figure the least oil residue I have to be in contact with the better. Now folks don't have to buy a full gallon to start off they can purchase the rtv in smaller quantities. A quart size of rtv silicone is roughly 30 to 40 bucks. I personally would think if someone spent countless hours in carving a hard master than I think they would be willing to spend the money to make a nice mold that they would be happy with. Now you mentioned different methods in casting your molds. I think if maybe you shared a few of these methods the gang on here would definitively would appreciate it. Now there is a way of stretching that high cost of silicone to your favor and that is by coating the outer surface of the hard master and making sure the master is coated with at least two coats of rtv silicone. Once the masters surface is completely cover and dry. The next step would be to fill in the rest of the mold box with a filler like bondo or plaster of paris. So now you have the best of both worlds a little amount of expensive rtv silicone and a inexpensive filler with the bondo or plaster of paris. Micheal we still need to get together for that fishing trip. You take care and God Bless you and yours. Frank

Hello gang carved up another mouse bait. Been wanting to try a soft plastic mouse bait for some green bass here in our local lakes. I still have to do a little prep work on this clay carving before he takes a bath in some silicone. We will see if he gets chewed once completed. Till next time gang. BP

Hello this crazy idea came to mind about making a huge segmented bait. So I grabbed the clay and got to work. Here is what the ball of clay turned into. I still have to give clean it up a little bit before it take a bath in Silicone but its going to be fun to see if I can get a fish to eat this huge 13.5 inch bait. Till next time gang. Frank

Thanks Simon for the nice compliment. Still putting in the time to perfect my baits. Running out of materials real quick over here. The RTV silicone cost is killing me but its a must have. As I wait it gives me time to play with the clay. There are many designs screaming at me to completed but I have to pace myself. Have a great day. Frank

Andree all of my master are carved out of sculpy bake clay. I have gotten use to using this clay but maybe will invest in a few more wood working tools to help me keep the cost down on the clay. I have dabbled with wood in the past but always go back to the clay. Have a great day and best of luck to you on your projects. Frank

Simon thanks for the nice compliment on the new bait. The side stripes are elevated or protruding from the body of the bait. It has a 3D look to it just like the fin details on the bait. Currently the black stripes are colored in with a black sharpie marker. I cool way in locking in the marking pen is to flame the outter surface of the plastic. I know there are marking pen that they make for this application I just need to find out what they are called. I did get a tip from a good friend of mine in Japan as to how to pour the side stripes on this bait so I will need to practice. Till next time many more to follow. Frank

Hello gang check this one out. I had an idea about making a mackerel style swimbait so I picked up the clay again the other night and got to work. Added side stripes and mid fins onto one my proto type carvings and this one came to life. The color is a green mackerel and I will be playing with colors to make a blue and spanish mackeral. Let me know what you think. Have a great day. Frank

Simon the rat is still waiting along with many other carvings that are screaming at me to make them come to life. I will dig the rat out of the pile and see and get the mold together. Stay tuned in. There are two rats. One hard bait and the other will be the softbait. The hardbait rat needs a few more tweeks in him to get him right. He is also on the back burner right now. Till next time and thanks for the cool comment on my baits. Still trying out new ideas but with every try it keeps digging into my pocket. But the love of doing this overcomes all the money in the world. Money can always be made but I need to stop creating and building some of these lures to help me out with further projects. I am not making baits to become rich or anything I make them to maybe get a few bucks in my pocket to help me out on my own fishing addiction. My boat don't run on thanks and with Gas prices increasing it is making it even harder to take the boat out. Till next time brother. Cheers BP
