Great looking bait Mark. I would like to see that in a shad color. I bet I can get a nice size bass to gobble that thing up. Keep up the great work. Frank

Mark here's a suggestion. I would not dunk the clay in the water but here is what I would do when the clay starts getting to soft. Stick it into the freezer for 5 to ten minutes and you will be golden again. What I normally do is start a second carving and alternate the baits in and out of the freezer. I know you can get fixed on the same carving but if you start that second one the 5 and 10 minutes goes by real fast. Another thing I would do while waiting for the cool down time is maybe heat up some plastic and pour a dozen baits or so. Just some ideas. Frank

Hello gang I took a little break the other day from pouring and grabbed the clay and formed this little rat dude. I think he came out cool looking. I got a few ideas what I am going to do with him but for right now he is eating cheese sitting on the fire place mantle. Till next time gang Frank

another look at a different pour what you will see here is a two color bait encased with clear bottom and top. The lead head is one of my buddies design. Its the latest hot jig head that has hit the market. The lead heads are called WAR HEAD. Do a search on my buddies web site and check out the awesome color selection that are available. These head are awesome and the weed guard works great when fishing heavy structure. These two baits were rush pours in order for me to show you guys a different look on colors on a bait. Till next time gang. Frank

here is my 6.25 inch swimbaits. I am trying something new on the pours. What you will see is three pearl powders encased in a bottom and top layer of clear with very small silver flake. I was thinking the other night about how I could get the illusion of a small internal bait within a larger profile bait. What I was thinking is that once this bait is in the water the clear will be transparent ans all that will be left for the fish to see is the inside three colors and the head. I think it looks cool but pouring 5 different layer without a cold crack can be a bit tricky. But it can be done. Let me know what you think Frank

    Little shad bait

Jim shoot me an email so we can talk about your bait. I am no pro at this. But if you think my input will help out than I will be more than happy to share some tips. So what is it creature bait? Jim I was admiring your works of art on your web site man those colors on your new jerk bait are insane. You have inspired me to make my own smaller jerk slug bait. I will shoot up some picture real soon. Till next time Frank

Mark the bottom white has a touch of Turqouise Highlite to give it the mother of pearl look. This color really pops in the water when the sun hits it. Give it a go you won't be sorry. BP

Mark great looking baits. Looks like you got the fin thing down. I did away with putting fins external fins on my baits because of the baits wanting to roll. I think the extrernal fins do give the bait a cooler look. But I am now placing the fins in tight to the body of the baits. It give them the fin look be no rolling effect. Many might think that placing the fins on a swimbait is an easy task but I have wasted to much silicone to figure it out. Again the baits look great and in due time those bass will be tearing those up. Pancho

Mark get a thin piece of sheetmetal and place in the middle of the mold. You will have to suspend it with a homemade holder. This will give you the hookslot once the plastic cures. By the looks of the bait it might want to flip fin side down. If this is the case redo your carving with the head the other way do away with the top fin and carve in a hookslot in its place. Just my two cents. Great looking little bait you got there brother. Pancho

    A few more carvings

Bob these carvings are my clay masters that I will soon be making a couple of top pour mold out of RTV. The top pour mold will allow me to pour these baits in all sort of colors. Everyone one of my baits are my own creations. Many other carvings are sitting here waiting to be completed, I have to do them in stages because RTV Silicone is very expensive. So in do time my other baits will get completed. BP
