i see alot of ppl here use feather lite.... my main intrest is making the mold i guess ill use rtv

hi guys.... ive been working like everyday after school on a few swimbaits for quite some time .. id like to make molds and i think id do amwire in the mold so its kind of thru wired.... what is a good/ cheap moldng material... this will be the first mold iv ever done so i dont want to buy like the most expensive silicon or any thing, just need a decent molding material..... i think the lures will be done with alumilite Thanks !!!!!!!

hey guys... i was thinking id use oomoo 25 silicon and alumilite.. i no lots of ppl here are big on feather lite, are there any other good plastics..... also id like to make a mold directly of a live fish .. quick mold and let him go rite after what is the best stuff to do this with ?

thanks vodka man, i think i will try to make a mold that will hold in the harness i decide on........... with just a pin thru the segments holding the two pieces together.. has any one had a fish pull the lure apart?

man those hinges in both links are nice, alot of work but no doubt better then screw eyes...i have been told to use bike spokes once before i think that is what i will use for the plastic model

hey guys i just worked on my first swim bait... its about 7 inches hinges will be finished with 0.62 stainles wire..want to make a mold for in and produce some hard baits with feather lite or aluminite... i think i want to use a form of thru wire, or anyhing that will hold more effectivley then screw eyes... has any one used sinker eyes or a longer bend up piece of wire almost like a paper clip inserted for line attatchment and hooks? want these baits to hold a big fish ... also do i make a spot in my mold to hold the hardwareif i want it installed in like this?. i personaly fnd it pretty interesting tht the etex is strong enough even at a 50/50 mix!!!! so you do it in a bucket and let the pugs soak? and does it give them a real hard finish or just seal them

so two ton denatured alcohol 50 50 mix is strong enough for sealing and over coat... seems like tht would dilute it too much... and how many plugs can you seal with tht little bit

will like pam spray for cooking work as a release agent? and how do you guys paint and final seal these feather lite plugs?

with a 60 to 40 percent mixture of etex to distilled alcohl is it still strong enough to seal the plug.......should i try closer to a 70 to 30 or just stick with plain etex

thts a similar technique i wuz told . just i was told you could heat a plug up and use straight envirotex and lay it on thick it will absorb... with your way and i litterly like dropping them in and scooping them out ?
