  1. Lurecraft has a CNC machine and can probably make you one. Ask Kim.
  2. Check out Kyle at High Rock Molds
  3. Smooth cast 300 will bond to itself, but I am not sure how the microballoons will affect this.
  4. I ordered some molds from them and they shipped today...
  5. I like Oomoo-25. Easy to work with, durable. Chicago airbrush is where I get it from- free shipping for orders over 100. Hope this helps, Dave
  6. I tried the same thing with a modified ear ball mold. The casting stuck more in this mold than the Poison tail. Could still remove it without damaging the ball. I was testing the mod for a swing jig. Worked well.
  7. I made 10 of these last night using a 3/8 poison tail mold. Started with a cold mold. I used hot glue from Walmart. injected 10 with hook and pin for the weedguard. No sticking or prolonged cure time. Inject, count to 10, open mold, pull out jig. Works great- thanks for the idea! Dave
  8. I always spray a clear gloss solvent based paint like rustoleum as the first coat to washoff/adhere to any oily surface, then follow it up with several light coats of a water based gloss acrylic. Of course, if you have alot of detail, go easy on the extra coatings.
  9. Holy cow- never mind! I just saw the price difference. Sorry! Dave
  10. Cadman, I do not, but I see an ebay listing, 251473016750, for $56. Hope this helps, Dave
  11. Here's a thought: Go to the hardware store and see if they have any bushings that fit the OD of the rods. Slip them over the rod at the tail section and pour. The added diameter will thin out the tails. THe only drawback will be if the bushings take up too much space. You can also have rods custom cut by a machine shop. I Suppose JB weld around the rods at the tail section will also work, but this is more or less a permanent change.
  12. The hardener in Lurecraft plastic will settle, so you can get various degrees of hardness depending on how you mix the settled plastic. Hope this helps, Dave
  13. I recall using LC purple and pumpkinseed for cinnamon. Sorry that I don't have the exact formula with me.
  14. It may seem like a dumb question, but are your masters shiney?
  15. You can use soft plastics as masters, but what I have noticed is that sometimes, oils/additives in the plastic slows down the curing process and i end up with cavities that lose some detail. So I now wash the plastic thoroughly and leave the mold to set up longer. I use Oomoo 25. Hope this helps, Dave
  16. This is a nice design- The only recommendations I have would be to thin out the paddle and make it more perpendicular to the body. The other problem that you might encounter is that with long paddles, the shank to the paddle has to be slightly wider to keep the paddle moving- otherwise the paddle may end up dragging in the water without moving. I like Oomoo-25 for silicone- I order from Chicago airbrush supply. Hope this helps, DAve
  17. The molds inject very nicely, no problems noted. I looking forward to fish these baits in the pads. Dave
  18. I just received my Thumper molds from Kyle at High Rock. He took the time to call me personally to discuss some details and delivered when he said he would. The molds have an excellent finish. He takes the time to round over edges and corners and the cavities look great. I will let you know how they perform after I inject a few baits. I was interested in this mold because of the placement of the injection port.and the potential for making residual plastic there into a skirt. Hope this helps, Dave
  19. Welcome! I am in the Kalamazoo area. Dave
  20. OK here is what I know, based on powder received from Columbia, strictly my opinion: 6014 is yellow olive, the green pumpkin that we usually use 6003 is olive green, and is like split pea lightened with a little white 6007 is bottle green and is like a dark watermelon 6008 is brown green, and is a dark green pumpkin 6015 is black olive and is a greener dark green pumpkin Hope this helps
  21. Columbia is a good vendor, but be aware that the colors that you see on the monitor are not necessairily what you will receive. Hope this helps, Dave
  22. I had the same problems until I sliced the mold from the top down to the start of the bait cavity. This facilitates pouring (bigger opening) and extracting the finished bait. Then, after filling the mold, you need to squeeze the mold in the middle to make sure you get any air bubbles out. Not simple, but the I have caught alot of fish using this bait. Hope this helps!
  23. As an even cheaper alternative, I use 1/2" coppper pipe coupling fittings in this situation. Hope this helps, Dave
  24. I like the 3M 6000 with organic vapor carts. I can wear it for hours without discomfort.
