  1. Any body use any of the plastic hard baits from MudHole? Got 20 from a buddy ,built him a couple salt water spooks for them Any differance painting or top coating then wood? wet
  2. You can get all sizes of dowels 7/8" and 3/4" are theones I use most Up to 1 1/2 " if you want. I get them at the home centers , they are mostly poplar so make shure you seal good. wet
  3. The lures are 6" long and through wired. the two shots in the chin were good had to go with a shot behind the front hook hanger. Now all is nice , swim great. Was doing some testing and a 18" largemouth said thats good. Thaks for everyones help!!! Wet
  4. I started playing around with jointed plugs for stripers and Musky/Pike. The lures are thru wired , any body do these type lures. My question is do you keep all the weight in th front section. Put two 00 buck shot just under the chin and a 150 grain weight in the back of the front section. Lure swims with a slow wag. Just looking to cut my learning curve a bit. The plug are 6" long 7/8 " dia , carved from poplar with a z type lip. wet
  5. I use etex over devcon. Just scuff up the old devocn finish and recoat . Did a batch of old salt water plugs that I repainted for a friend last winter , he is hard on plugs. The finish held up good , a couple Blue Fish worked over pretty bad I got them to work on now. wet
  6. cloths pins with popsicle stick work good for me. wet
  7. Spoopa check out he CAG site. Lots of carp fishing information there! Phil and the others are right if fished for with the right rigs carp are a great game fish. Here in Pa. they are shot in some waters with bow and arrows but there are lots of carp anglers that look out for them. wet
  8. When I am pounding the sand I have 1 some times two rods with me, along with my gear/plug bag. The second rod is for slinging bait. wet
  9. They get painted sealed and throw to the fishes. Blue fish , stripers in the salt and Trout , Bass in fresh are what they are made for! wet
