  1. As stated that's doable you just can't hand pour any ole injection mold the plastic is not thin enough to make it's way down to the smaller parts of many baits, you can do allot of things as stated including laminates veins even 3 and 4 color baits with some hand pour practice combined with injection and a good eye.
  2. Not to mention powder paint is next to bullet proof.
  3. Mold configuration and size of appendages and the like will tell you if it's possible but not many can be hand poured and is not worth the effort except for those occasions when you are doing laminates but you would still need to inject the second half. When you see different colored claws for example that was injected and the claws cut from the body and left in the mold then the body color is injected.
  4. Looks like a new product and the video seems strait forward wondering what's new about this product from the other UV set resins.
  5. You should air dry your paint and let set for a period then heat cure, if you blast your paint with too much heat too early it will tend to skin over causing it to take much more time to dry/cure.
  6. Hope all have a safe one and enjoy the family!
  7. HaHa yeah I like when you hear "it works because it give the fish a new look" since the creation of man we've tricked things into our bag from purple worms to chartreuse 4 tailed willy monster's, yep I'm out to catch me a fisherman not the fish
  8. Go with respirator you don't want to find out later your ill for not taking the precaution early. Make your booth the size needed for your task and don't go much bigger as stated the bigger the booth the larger the fan I made mine around a small furnace filter that way it fits perfect every time, and by the way a plastic tub is what I used and 4 inch dryer duct is my exhaust. Good luck with post up your efforts when your done!
  9. X2 on the mask MEK is extremely toxic.
  10. Yeah if I remember correctly the package even says to measure by volume not weight.
  11. if you run a large compressor you may want to consider the need for a line dryer as well large compressors produce allot of moisture which is bad juju for painting.
  12. X2 teflon all the way! Easy to clean also.
  13. No .3mm is smaller than .5mm and the smaller you go the more experienced you need to be with reduction of the paint system you choose to shoot.
  14. Yes I was told you can buy the needle/nozzle for the NEO BCN at .5mm I have the CN and one thing you need to know is the nozzle is super small and the threads appear to be very fragile I've yet to strip them but it seems it's only a matter of time. the bigger the nozzle the wider the pattern and the larger the paint atomization is in most cases, the farther away from your work the bigger the pattern but you risk the paint drying before it hits the work I use bigger nozzles for heavy body paints, pearls, craft paints and primer/base coats and the like but mainly stick with .3mm to .38mm for finish work.
  15. Yep nice brush as well can't go wrong with Iwata the BR is a great starting brush Dakota lakes Tackle does some fine work with that brush.
  16. My recommendation would be the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS or HP-BS @ $142 if you plan on spraying water based acrylics hands down this brush is great, If you plan on doing a little bit of everything I also have the Paasche Talon TG which you can buy loaded (3 different needle/nozzle combo) @ $109 or as a base setup with the .38 needle/nozzle @ $74 these prices are with free shipping from Chicago Airbrush Supply.
  17. You will never find an AB that is able to do fine detail with powder paint, any device that shoots powder will have it's own limitations I would look at TJ's Tackle for a comparison.
  18. I've seen and read many reviews on harbor freight ab's and none were good.

    Reducer

I've sprayed it straight never had a problem, I use it as an inner coat clear.

    Reducer

Using brand specific reducer helps with film strength water will break that down, now does that apply to how we use these paints not sure but I don't take the chance 5608 illustration base is a little misleading as it is a solvent based reducer for the standard createx line and works well.
  21. Go to an electrical supply house and ask if they have any empty wire spools they work great and are easy to setup just slide onto BBQ skewer and bingo!
  22. tjstackle has some short tutorials as does Do-It's website suppliers are a plenty: Bears Lurecraft Do-It Basstackle M-F Start here you should find what you need. On bear's site there was a guy selling everything he owned at a discount don't know what's left but he was unloading probably over 100 molds.
  23. The liquid you refer to is powder water by columbia coatings it is close to $50 a quart, if you go this route please post results sounds interesting.
  24. The flash can be trimmed but I'd just run my finger over the bait holder and knock it down a bit more holding power if you asked me and as stated coating or painting will cover up the wrinkle effect might also run a bit cooler with your lead it may help reduce the flashing as well.
  25. Yo 4 posts does not a forum member make, Ben was offering a possible solution I don't see this as a hijack, and Ben will tell you when we don't agree I say so, he's on point here. Move on!
