Drop out mold release will work fine.

Yeah often that's the recomended suggestion to oil the wire core, I'm no sure as I don't own one but see if the do-it mold wire core will fit your mold I'm sure someone can tell you the diameter.

Keep your eye out on ebay and on some of the mold maker's forums, but good luck your going to pay through the teeth RI keeps a close eye on the movement of said molds. Your better off just making a mold with RTV or POP just don't try and sell them.

1st 3 sure looks like spinner bait molds to me. That is the hook size listed on the mold. The last one could be a punching weight but do you have the insert?

I'm not familiar with that bait but is the tail made from plastisol? if so ispike-it has both a water based clear or solvent based clear they also have a thin version of plastisol used to dip painted soft baits to seal the paint in.

I see, I never poured a light colored bait guess that's why I haven't seen it I have several RTV molds set up for imbedding jigheads into, at least now I know what to look for.

I've never heard of a problem inserting a jighead into an RTV mold and pouring plastisol, what thread did you find info that may statedotherwise?

M-F plastic floats not sure of hook size though.

Some will over pour then scrape with a straight edge, it won't eliminate the flashing but it will be very thin and removes easily. This not recommended for production that is the realm for injection.

From the pic it sure looks like your gates are very small, the plastic is more than likely seizing up preventing the normal curing process which includes the still liquid plastic being drawn from your runner kinda like a reservoir. -
Wow very disapointing he was a a great member here and will be sadly missed, but his contributions will stand the test of time.

Mark so far I really like the ability to flush the brush out as I take forever with paint in the brush and tip dry and paint boogers are prevalent with my slow process, I really don't see me needing to take the crown cap off for fishing tackle but it's nice to have that little option of placing it on the rear of the brush to prevent losing it (visually challenged). It also comes in handy when using cheaper craft paint to flush out occasionally.

Sounds like the plastic is contracting you need quite a bit of reserve plastic for a 3 cavity mold to prevent it I would increase the diameter of your runner (channel) and make sure your topping of your sprue when the plastic is cooling. Also what size are your gates? -

Got ya, yeah the VL series smallest size is .55mm and matco is .20mm I haven't found any below .15 and that was for Harder and Steenbeck's Infinity and Evolution.

I purchased a batch of trigger stix for my airbrushes and I can tell you they are fantastic, they give you mechanical advantage making the trigger action much smother. Anyone interested they are for sale here: http://www.shapeways.com/search?q=trigger+stix I found that the small version is good for large cup models and the larger one's work really well on the smaller cup models.
