  1. If its polyester it should be good to go.
  2. Although it does not say so I believe it is the same but please read all safety literature and be very careful using them, most are actually glass spheres and atomize and float in the air if you breath these in your lungs will be damaged severely, I'm not trying to scare you just emphasizing the safety concerns to be applied. They do work well when used properly the cooler the plastic the better they seem to burst if the plastic is too hot. Keep us posted on how you make out and good luck.
  3. I'm all in for a 14' or bigger semi v, the boat gets up and goes is stable can handle rough water unlike a flat bottom and in those time when the wind whips up you're more likely to stay dry I've had a semi v for 30 years 3 different ones and to be quite frank the flat bottom jons I've been in are noisy in chop so no sneekin up on the fish that day. Mine is referred to as a backtroller and I'm out on the mighty tidal Delaware river with large cargo ships passing by and can tell you stability is excellent.
  4. Well that all depends on how much you plan on making 1 oz is fine if your just planning a few hundred but if your plan is to be all in go with 4 ozs. Flake goes along way so smaller sizes to get started are ok try to get 2 sizes of each color you choose its give more contrast to your baits.
  5. Hi Tony the best answer to your question is the one you ask yourself, what colors do I like to use? always get black it's an old standby now do you like watermelon/pumpkin/brown colors well they can be had strait up in a bottle what I'm getting at is it's best while learning to keep everything as simple as possible there are no magic colors that can do all so you just need to ask yourself what you like to throw and get those colors 1st that way you're not learning to be a mixologist at the same time learning to pour a great bait.
  6. Open your gallery and to the right is the option tab open it and just copy the one that suits your preference and copy into your post.
  7. Think if you go to Do-It's website the molds section will tell you what size is needed for each.
  8. I stopped using nuts and bought a $6 mini drink mixer to mix the colorant I get much more consistent results that way. Also excellent for my Airbrush paint. Still use the drop measure as if your colorant is mixed properly your results will be more accurate.
  9. Check out dakotalakestackle on youtube he has a great method to making stencils with a home vacuum a coffee can and a heat gun they last a long time too!
  10. 1. it appears Linmar is indefinitely closed 2. when it became known that he was in violation of RI's intellectual property he took them down from his site Don't know if he reintroduced them before he closed or not but I doubt it
  11. Oh absolutely and he's pretty creative that's for sure.

    Wacky Worms

Not quite, you can do it that way but I assure you, more often than not you will come up with an empty hook with an o-ring hanging from it. I've fished this method for years and found as many have that hooking into the meat of the worm is still required for longevity. The original wacky rig was simply the hook through the worm but as stated would cause a high loss rate due to tear out, with the ring installed it gives it enough resistance to get several fish to the boat before change out. Now with all the other options coming to market they provide other rigging options such as the stickbaits that have a rubber insert in the middle of the bait that you actually hook into or some of the homemade techniques such as the pull tie if you pull tight enough on the tie you can get away with just hooking the tie instead of the worm just not sure if the tie is a hinderance to catching fish seems a little too big of profile to me but hey if it works for you go for it. There is also a weight system on the market which looks like a ring you put on the center of the worm and allows the hook to go through the bait and inserted into a slot holding it in place, tried them too didn't like the system seemed a little too loose for my liking. I think the best homemade system still is the shrink tube method as you can get a tight and proper fit and the hook will easily go through it making it all but indestructible for the day.
  13. Ill check again but my Wallmart didn't have it and it didn't look like they did no empty space on shelf.

    Wacky Worms

Just curious are you putting the hook through the worm or just hanging it on the pull tie? With the o-ring you put the hook through the worm and under the o-ring.
  15. You know I'm having a bear of a time finding Pledge with Future shine here in Philly I see they keep changing the name but I'm told that the formula is the same I might just have to break down and order it online I just hate shipping costs I did quite well with the multi surface in my .35 brush it's a pretty good consistency right out of the bottle needs very limited reduction but the glitter I knew better and sized up I'm just very happy with the results it seems craft paints have come a long way from previous years. I have the idea that I'll use the cheaper craft paint for the large coverage applications such as base coat/under coats and use my AB paint for the detail.
  16. Just an update: After the great results I achieved I went all in and switched out my.38 needle/tip set for my .66 set on my Talon and just shot Folkart Extreme Glitter paint and wow is all I can say it laid down beautifully and has a really cool effect it was the silver now I'm going to pick up the Holographic glitter they had and see how that looks. I must admit you will not be doing any type of detail work but I see no need to for the effect it provides. I think a top coat just before your seal coat will look awesome.
  17. So I've read the pos and negatives of craft paint in airbrushes from the past but I'm having excellent results from americana multi surface satin paint anyone else using this brand? I'm not screening it and just reducing lightly my brush has a .35 needle. They have a chartreuse that's killer.
  18. Haha don't sweat RL I was bad once and have 2 reminding me all the time, only you can see it no one else, well except for the Mods
  19. I hear ya there Mark I just wish I had the free resources that he enjoys
  20. Ha I just ordered it from Chicago airbrush will be here on the 1st, and yes it is an awsome color and very versatile.
  21. Hey Smallie I had the same question, the answer is: It is the Plat 55. The downside of the Plat 55 is that it is highly recommended you degas (vacuum) the rubber to remove the air as it is really thick. The alternative to that rubber in a silicone that does not require degassing is the Quick Set. This would be a much stiffer rubber that is great for 2 piece molds that does not need to be vacuumed. Note; It does not appear that Larry carries it on his site but it is on Alumilites corporate site.
  22. The key word in your post is "Whatever I want" I don't think any of them will violate copyright infringement but if your providing your own design any of them, Bear's Baits, Basstackle, Do-It Soft Plastics, Shawn Collins, Highrock Molds or Lakeside Molds to name a few.
  23. Not sure a lead head would work but if you search Larry Dahlberg make a lure he has some good video's and I think you could modify the method for which he makes his A rig he also explains what products he's using.
  24. Good luck on that one that's the holy grail of reproduced molds they come up for sale once in awhile but be prepare to pay. RI is very protective of their intellectual property.
