    Wacky Worms

Yep and make sure your installing an o-ring in the center to give the bait some longevity, without it you'll go through a small fortune in a day. Also don't forget you can drop shot a wacky rigged worm as well.
  2. Well if your not pouring hundreds you could always set the paint with a heat gun/torch
  3. Anybody have experience with Etex over craft paint? I have a brush with an .66 tip/needle and have no problem with spraying craft paint as I do not use it for detail just background or throat patch, things like that. Just curious if there are any caveats to using Etex with craft paint, I would think since Createx and the like are acrylic as is craft paint I should be fine. I mix my craft paint with acrylic medium to stretch the paint then thin as needed, seems to work very well I feel this way I can heat set even the craft paint now that its mixed with the medium, anyone else tried this?
  4. For all intents and purposes yes but how you cook it and what you add to it will obviously change its characteristics. As far as being cloudy it sure sounds like it hasn't gone through all the phases needed before pouring, make sure you are stirring often between time cycles of around 2 minutes each it must reach approximately 350 degrees.
  5. If you go with the old school mortise type harbor freight has it for $10
  6. Sounds to me by the way you explain it that you have what they call "fisheye" no pun intended. I did read that you used a blow gun which I assume is connected to a compressor so there is a very good possibility that either some moisture or oils from the compressor sprayed onto your baits when blowing them off. Compressors by their very nature will condense water in the process so a line dryer is an important necessity when using around anything that requires a finish that being paints and coatings of any kind.
  7. That's a great idea Rich a zipper pull for and outdoorsman's jacket that's a winner!
  8. I stand corrected and see that I'm apparently a sucker! for some reason I think the lesser of 2 evils apologies go out to anyone I offended by this crap. But I do hope this is still a site with the hobbyist in mind, any more I see fights over this and that in the business sense. Oh and thank you Rich for pointing this out, I do appreciate your opinion and am not offended as I've seen your work all over during my new found addiction of airbrushing, thanks again!
  9. Wrong! The guy is just offering up his take on the option get off your high horse were not all here to be in business and I'm quite sure that when this site started it was about the hobby but as of late seems to be who makes a better product not sure why.
  10. I too use a toaster oven and I have it down now where I don't get clogged eyes as once you learn the settings on the oven you can get it to glaze over, not quite shiny not quite dull then into the oven for the cure, and I'm talking about some small hook eyes that's what works for me. Oh and in my world a fluid bed is the gold standard.
  11. In a pinch you can use crayons or oil based pastels ground down can also work, but as stated a few basic colors is all that's needed.
  12. Hum I see them pre-rigged on jigs but don't see them sold separately, interesting.
  13. Thanks, I musta spelled it wrong as I did a search and came up with nothing, god bless the spell checker
  14. All good advice I'll only add that flake will darken the plastic a bit so do a test pour on a bait to see if its where you want it.
  15. I don't have a menard's around my parts but stumbled into this from Home Depot, anybody try it: Famowood 1-gal. Famowood Glaze Coat Clear Epoxy it's not cheap but still might be worth testing.
  16. Not sure if you can do it but I have mine on photobucket and linked it on here.
  17. How about a hybrid, Inject silicone into a skirt mold sprayed with mold release? I've already used plastic colorant for soft plastics in a 2 part resin and although it made the resin a bit softer after setting up it seemed to be colorfast so it should work. If you don't have skirt mold shoot a worm mold to see if it would work, unfortunately you would need an awful lot of molds considering the time it would take to set up.
  18. Correction to my post #24 I was using Createx Auto Air not Createx Wicked
  19. I ordered a Norpro mini drink mixer on Amazon for like $6 has 4 attachments 2 will work great for mixing paint right in the bottle the one attachment is thin and narrow, when you insert it in the bottle then turn it on it splays outward to the sides of the interior of the bottle. Here's a link to see it operate:
  20. Funny you mention that, yesterday I did my first little project while waiting for my blanks to come. I did the water drop effect on my exacto knife case and used for the first time my metallic silver Createx paint and like you stated it was chunky not hard stuff just like heavy glue like consistency would not flow in my neo with a .35 tip so I went for my .66 unit and got it to flow as I didn't have reducer for the wicked line, I'll have to give the straining a go and see how that works.
  21. That's not accurate if you use the right sand you can achieve excellent results, does it require a little more attention, of course like any other additive including flake additional stirring is needed.
  22. That's because they don't take the all of 5 minutes to properly clean their chainsaws between trees and properties bringing whatever ails the previous trees to your property real jerks for sure. And I should know because I was a utility arborist for over 20 years and I couldn't get the company to adopt such a simple rule, but I suspect that's why they are one of the wealthiest privately owned companies in the world! Think orange
  23. I personally haven't dipped yet but Frank has a video on youtube demonstrating dipping think he kinda did a little swirl motion and think he dipped into water to set immediately after. Do a youtube search under Franksrooty2 it'll be there.
  24. Ispikeit carries the paint.
  25. I second that do not use a toaster oven the fumes you create will be highly toxic as you will surely burn the plastic!
