  1. this not an answer for production but you can straighten a paper clip out and heat the end with a lighter then just push it through. I'm new to a fluid bed, made it this winter but found whenever possible hold the jig by the eye wnen dipping.
  2. I'm sure many will respond but PM Bojon here on the site he is the dipping guru and most have been advised by him.
  3. I thought I read not to long ago here that the injectasol was de-aired plastisol and was geared to injection machines with heat exchangers?
  4. Looks good Frank thanks for the video, question I see you didn't top off the sprues at all do have any issues with that on any of you molds? I have a 2 cavity 3" curly tail grub and its seems that the top runner for the top bait sucks in allot of plastic to the point if not topped off the tip of the top bait has a hollow. Oh and I'm hand injecting.
  5. Yes you can do that or depending on what worm you looking at most of the mold makers, Bear, basstackle have worm molds and tip molds for the same worm you just shoot the tips demold and place in the worm mold and shoot.
  6. personal observation is to stay away from janns netcraft all reports i've read about them is that they are dangerous in the hands of a novice, plastic clips break and hot plastic explodes when the mold fails. Get yourself a nice starter kit from bear's, basstackle or others already mentioned you'll be hooked and join the rest of the madhouse.
  7. Seth, I don't dip but if you really want the lowdown on dipping contact Bojon here on the site I haven't read a thread on dipping yet that his name was not mentioned!
  8. don't leave us hanging what was the problem?
  9. make sure you have the hand pour mold and not the injection mold, you'll never get the injection mold to hand pour, the injection mold's sprue is @ a right angle to the bait, the hand pour is on the end of the mold.
  10. I think this niche market has grown exponentially it seems that all mold makers are feeling a pinch with keeping up with orders the hand injection market is really taking off, I may be wrong JD but I think I read somewhere that Bob is related to Kevin at basstackle I see what looks to be Bob's molds at the very end of the list at Basstackle.
  11. If you can find a container that is clear if possible and then you will be able to see when hardener is mixed. It will prolly be hardpack so spend 10-15 minutes to ensure you got it all, I did my 5 gallon container last night that sat for 6 months and it was really packed on the bottom.
  12. Only other thing it may be is Lurecraft is notorious for separating in the container you need to mix the hell out of it then when you think your done mix it some more, it sure sounds like a separation issue and a lack of hardener if you are following the previously prescribed heating method.
  13. I've been wondering if you cold make dots\eyes\bloodlines in your mold then pour hot plastisol it would cure the gel a lure? Anybody try that?
  14. Ha that's funny your the first to realize that observation, but as you can see it was and is perfect for pouring
  15. Don't know what model you have but with mine I removed the handles and used all thread and nuts to hold it down it also works to hold down my stir motor.
  16. Just wanted to give a shout out to Bear's Baits and BassTackle for superior customer service, I placed an order from both of them last Saturday and received both orders today and the quality of the merchandise is excellent. All reports of quality service is true about both of these suppliers and will surely place orders with both again in the near future.
  17. sure sounds like you may have air in the plastic, is it possible that you shook the bottle and imparted air into it, or is there any surface bubbles on the outside of the baits it dosen't take much.
  18. I know you said you mixed it but the only thing is if you have had success with this batch a few times before it sure sounds like the ratio of plastic to hardener has increased and that only happens with insufficient mixing, is it possible that some hard pack came loose on this ocassion and mixed up making it hard?
  19. 95% of the time it is the plastic settled and needs to be mixed, as stated shake the hoot out of it and when you think its mixed shake some more. I've pulled baits out of my molds while still setting up and there not sticky.
  20. only thing I'll add is if you have a small number of jigs with clogged eyes straighten out a paper clip heat until red and push through the eye.
  21. I have silicone molds that have incisions in them to pre-rig hooks in the bait but not with mono attatched, but I would venture to guess this method would work with leader material.
  22. I second what pitbull said I have over 50 molds from lurecraft and for the money there great, don't even think of going into business you'll only ruin the experience before you get started have fun with it and you'll be hooked.
  23. Make sure you are shaking your plastic well, when you think you shook it enough shake it again plastisol has a tendency to seperate, if you bought one of those injectors please be extremly careful I have read nothing but bad things and hot plastic will burn the hootnanny out of you.
