  1. For the record Bear did not update his stores main page regarding his status but he did post an update on his forum not sure why he did that as people go to his store to purchase things not the forum?
  2. Some use a tooth brush, apply paint to the brush and flick the bristles, to do it with an air brush takes practice but if you take a piece of cardboard and load it up with paint at one point it will start to splatter you need to hold the brush on an angle and blow the paint off the cardboard at your bait.
  3. Might want to post these in the gallery before you awake the picture nazi's.
  4. How much stateside? looks like its across the pond, or is that the idea.
  5. Oil based pastels work, steal your wife's eye makeup you know the one with like 15 different colors even some crayons have been known to work but as stated ensure compatibility before blowing up the shop. most dyes will bleed.
  6. Just don't thinker going to find an injection mold of any chunk they are to easy to pour with open molds the big manufacturers will inject them but as was stated they are using $4000-$6000 molds with $60,000 injection machines.
  7. I use a mechanical stencil for them with no problem not sure what brand it is but they are all pretty flexible.
  8. From all accounts the previous owner started it on Oct 15 2002
  9. I know back in the early days guys made spread sheets but they never seemed to compile from all the sources, i.e. they didn't seem to cross over from all the forums they seemed to stay within the group, not sure if anyone has followed up on it I haven't seen anything as of late.
  10. Yep mine only has green flake and purple and green will create a blue hue. And oddly enough purple and green pigment will make a muddy black/brown so go figure? my flake is lurecraft.
  11. X2 jb weld is very machineable.
  12. Hey Gino how is cleaning go with your AB? I think I read your using a harbor freight unit, I have only high end Iwata's and I'm kinda gun shy about putting epoxy in them, do find clean-up relatively easy?
  13. Just curious has anyone heard of aviation clear being used, well for aviation? My buddy clear coated a car with it some 30 years ago but I remember how tough this stuff was and the car always looked wet.
  14. I do know I've seen that design home built they used the foam board insulation as the wheels so without too much difficulty I would think that the design is solid and with minimal mods over time its a sound design.
  15. No salt here tube tails are just too small with salt they are far too weak when its added in I use medium plastic and course salt in the bag/container to keep tails separated but I do not sell so longevity is not my priority.
  16. Yes be sure its glass bead and not glass abrasive as that is the crushed glass media that is causing the problem, does harbor freight packaging advertise their material as glass bead?
  17. Thank you for your explanation the only thing that bothered me was a simple PM or a quick response in the thread to put the post back on track if in fact it went off track would have been enough I don't think the OP was trying to circumvent the rules and bam the thread was locked. All is good happy fishing!
  18. Fair enough but I was referring to your post that stated "Any website needs to make money to stay in business."
  19. That is not accurate the fishing forum I'm on is open to anyone and is owed by a guy who lived in my state and moved to the west coast and still has kept the site up he has no advertisements and maybe 2 paid vendors on the site, its not always money and surely opening up the site to photo's will not hurt anyone's bottom line.
  20. Yeah and the same can be said with not viewing the post if you don't want to see pictures if you open a post with a pic move on then. How about a sub category say titled "instructional with photo's" under each, hard baits, soft baits and wire baits then the nay sayers on photo's are forewarned.
  21. I have a 5 cavity 2 piece 5" senko mold that hand pours perfectly every time but it is designed with individual sprues or pour holes if you will so its designed for hand pouring. Injection is great for small appendages and molds with gates and runners that make hand pouring almost too difficult to achieve.
  22. Your point is right on with the exception that I believe we are already there. That membership number below is so inaccurate it's a falsehood if the list was weeded out for members who have not posted or signed on in reasonable period say a couple years that number would be in the low 1000's
  23. I have an idea why not communicate to the poster/complainant the reason for removal/retention and allow some dialog as it seems no one gets notified just taken down and left to wonder what happened, if folks are being notified and explained the situation and its resolution then my bad. I'm quite sure either Monte or the complainant would understand the definition of the violation or lack of and it would go along way than just locking a thread. I would agree that the last pic posted seems to have morphed into a showcase more than a see how but that is where a simple PM and possibly a removal of that post and most likely without much pushback by the poster if explained but as it stands the whole informative part of the thread is locked preventing continuation of that thread and no it is not practical to create new threads just to go around picture violations and locked threads. As for lynching the complainant well thats not very productive although most of us would agree that its lame under this circumstance as it was clear that instructional information was being provided. Just seems to be a disconnect between moderation and members as to violations and there resolutions. I have to imagine that there has to be new and or options in software control say to only allow 1-2 pics from any 1 poster in any 1 given thread and still maintain the current rules of being part of a instructional thread and not just a see what I did thing and considering this site is now owned by a company rather than an individual with access to current forum technology and controls that at least could be looked into and post on the outcome of that option. Rant over!
  24. Funny first time I've heard clear plastic was the enemy seems like the holy grail has been found
  25. 2 colored sprues equal black no harm no foul
