  1. thanks very much snax. i got your email ive been out of town.
  2. may have figured out the color on the sebile. On the link that triplextackle provided, look at the flair silver/spectrum color. Looks like it to me can anyone confirm?
  3. thanks BJ I actually bought that faschange for 2.99 before I seen your post. Good eye. And dito on that sebile, that thing looks good if anyone knows that color spill the beans LOL
  4. I have some parma fas-change red paint that when sprayed over white can only be seen when held a certain way in the light...i love the look of it! that got me thinking if i had a blue color that would do that i could better mimic a blueback herring. problem is there is no blue fas-change available to me locally so i was wondering if the iridescent createx colors do this same effect? and lastly if the createx does do this where is the best place to buy online,as none of my local hobby shops carry the iridescents. thanks much for the help
  5. thanks for the walk thru. But unfortunately the regular water based createx is all I have at my disposal. Will it still work?
  6. my question will the clear hold up? I have a few reels broken down for cleaning and the thought hit me "I should custom paint this thing" Obviously I can't use devcon so I wanted to see thoughts about this idea. Thanks as always for all responses.
  7. hey guys I'm looking for a really good diamond scale pattern. YES I did do a search on here and seen scale ideas but I've tried most and I'm just not happy yet. I tried louffas but it stretches too much. I tried fiberglass tape and those diamonds are too large. I tried screen and those are a tad small. The 6thsense guy has the perfect diamond pattern that I'm looking for. Don't know if he post here but if he does or if you guys know what would make similar scales I would greatly appreciate the tip.
  8. Just wanted thank you all again for the tips. I finished 4 baits today and they are flawless. I mixed the devcon with a fresh brush handle then flipped over and brushed on. Whatever the culprit was it has been eliminated.
  9. Thanks for the tips guys. I just returned from walmart where I purchased a 30 pack of kids brushes for 2 bucks. Not as good as taters deal but 6cents a piece I can throw away without loseing sleep. I also purchased 100 latex free gloves to reduce contamination. I'm off to the shop, I'll report new results tonight.
  10. thanks for the input guys. I've actually been getting the streaks on smooth crankbaits. I have no idea why some do it some don't. But my best paint job this far was ruined with a ton of bubbles across the belly in the clear. I'm sure the brushes will rid the bubbles but would etex eliminate the streaks? Curious which clear you use tater. Well off to wally world for kid brushes.
  11. I'm about to give up on D2T I keep getting streaks of bare paint with no epoxy on it as well as tons of tiny bubbles. I'm guessing brushes may help so I'm looking for the cheapest way out here. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  12. hey guys just wanted to thank tater hog and all the others that helped me get started with this airbrush. i finally painted a bait that i was satisfied enough with to finish with a coat of D2T.
  13. im tweeking a new color for clear water spotted bass. i call it threadfin HD
  14. I've only been painting for a few weeks, but I've had a heck of a jumpstart due to help from the awesome people here. Kreatex does make a clear cote but DONT USE IT. I cleared my first bait with it and went to the lake. Caught a striper on my 5th cast of the day with it ant the clear was hanging off the bait like a sausage skin. ....lesson learned. From what I've gathered to clear you need either devcon 2ton epoxy (which I am using now) or another favorite on here envirotex. Btw about thinning paint, I've been spraying straight kreatex. Is this bad for my airbrush?
  15. hi guys I'm new to custom painting and was wondering the best way to approach eyes. I've had good luck popping eyes off baits and reusing them But I'm nervouse about my megabass Ito 110. I know there are eyes to buy but my baits have all different size eyes. Any advise would be appreciated especially with the Ito 110.
