  1. I made a bunch of different sticks over the winter, and stored them by laying them in rows, in a plastic bin. Now I notice some of them are a little bit curved, especially the ones that have been sitting on the top. I was wondering what kind of storage tips people might have for storing baits, especially stick style baits, over longer periods of time? Thanks for your help. Tom
  2. Thanks Hawn, Cadman. This is exactly the info that I needed.
  3. Hi- I am looking for suggestions for hooks for this particular mold. I bought a pack of the 3/0 Gamakatsu 90deg Aberdeen hooks. They do not fit well in the 3/0 designated cavity, and they actually hit the side of the cavity (see pic). They are also kind of light wire, I'm concerned they could bend out if I fished them out on rock-piles. Jann's Netcraft says you can use these... Mustad 32755 or 32756 Eagle Claw 570 or 575 How do they compare to the Gams? What else are people using out there? I'd rather get some expert input rather than guess and buy half a dozen different hooks. Thanks. Tom.
  4. Being an engineer, this topic is very interesting to me. Thought I would throw in my 2c. If it were me, I would model the bait rather than the mold. I'd want to see my finished product, not the cavities. Any of these CNC mold makers on TU should be able to subtract your model from a mold base to make the cavities. But like some have said, the model has to be "moldable" and "millable" (No undercuts, and no excessively small radii). The only "affordable" 3D CAD software I have seen out there is Alibre at ~$300. I would download the Trial Version to see how user friendly it is. I agree!!! Once I upgrade my home PC, I plan on putting software on it for that exact purpose.
  5. Speaking of the valve...I only see horizontal valves on the presto-pots I see online. I like the vertical one much better. Did you install a new valve or did you find one that comes that way?
