  1. a 3 color split pouring cup would work here
  2. also the straighter you can keep your exhaust hose the stronger it will pull. the set up shown here is seriously underpowered to remove any fumes from plastic let alone lead which its particulates are much heavier than plastic. if he had moved the exhaust fan over closer to the hole in the wall it would help but anything under 500 cfm is a headache waiting to happen from the fumes even if you see teh majority going up the fan its the ones you dont see that will hurt you
  3. i dont condone preheating anything to do with making soft plastics; except, the blending blocks and plastic too!! LOL
  4. m-f's silver pearl color is a good start also
  5. i believe it was basstrix that used to or maybe they still do make some small dropshot minnows with a holographic foil inside them. so somewhere out there is a source??? maybe larry dahlbergs site has something???
  6. i used to be a firm believer in extra tips but the more you do it the less you need them as they get in the way. after i have shot all of my molds then stop and demold and reclamp the plastic is set up enough to just push tip out grab ahold of the end of the plunger and yank set up plastic off insert same tip and keep going. plus this tip is already warm and no need to keep things on a warmer and all!!
  7. i too like fin n feather in springfield thats where i grew up i just wish they would get a little more realistic with their pricing!!
  8. you can get close by using anothers recipes but it all boils down to what you personally prefer thats where the fun begins by experimenting with colors and plastics and flake to get YOUR desired combination. you already know the basic color/flake combinations just experiment with your colors until you get what you like the best!! and always have fun!!
  9. as a rule you need 100 cfm per square foot of the dimensions of your hood. if it is 24" by 30" would equal to a minimum of 500 cfm to do an adequate job. i believe you are going to be underpowered.
  10. thats a good choice i prefer black grape though i use it alot when darkening up alot of colors
  11. yes it is big enough call and ask to be sure first though. as for the orings go to any auto parts store and have them measure it then be sure and get one thats heat resistant
  12. hey Reds which BBcp did you like the best the original; or the ultra? and we find out at 7AM if they are going to amputate to mid knee or just open the foot and scrape and clean it out
  13. if you wanted to take lets say a shakyjig mold with the screw loc and fill the cavity up where the screw loc goes and then machine it out so that a much smaller spring type screw loc would fit there what would you use to fill the cavity with that would still be machineable??? inquiring minds want to know!!1
  14. you still would need an adequate amount of heat in the plastic to good a good adhesion i would think hotter would be better???
  15. i agree jim but some nicrowaves just arent very friendly at all!!
  16. i cant explain it but the shorter cook cycles create less bubbles. now just beacause you will be opening the door more to check on it doesnt mean you need to stir it which also creates bubbles. refrain from stirring it until it starts to come out of the gel stage and all you need to do is get the plastic off the sides of the cup not whisk it like an omelette also. hope this helps
  17. good morning red!! headed to hospital for father in law wish us luck not ready to lose him just yet!!
  18. if you had problems with it in the microwave even though you thought you were being easy on it you werent thats where your bubbles came from. call and ask they will tell you the same.
  19. i think he might have been referring to he couldnt figure out which ones were skinny dipper look alikes compared to the others. i personally had to look twice before i found them when i got my catalog but i knew what they looked like full round too???
  20. r&d engineering in earlham, iowa makes clamshell packaging. they might have something already close to the size you need check them out
  21. check with the few mold makers out there if you search their sites you will find what your looking for. it comes from AZ by the way but half the fun is the chase right??
  22. bag them up!! just keep them straight in the bag or the same thing will happem in the bag.
  23. you can get more than that out of a pyrex just tilt it to the side. if you have one of bears large injectors it should easily shoot 6 swims plus the runners and sprue in 1 shot!!
  24. ill fish with you mark i want the solid color!! ill take either black or gr. pumpkin no flake in either. that would be fun to test out side by side!1
  25. thats exactly what i was talking about in another recent post here. with those blending blocks and injectors like they are 4 colors is definitely possible i have done it for limited runs but ass most fishermen know what they want already but most prefer a flake tweak than awhole other color
