  1. same principle as i was telling you just leave the paddletail off and slide it off the blade then use a torch near it to soften the plastic tailend then squeeze it shut with a pait of pliers and trim like you want it???? just an idea BTW flashtrix has won me over 5K on missouri lakes in the early 2000's
  2. there was some before that 1 bob that were skinnier and more of a pinched tail not so well formed and they also were NOT a paddletail but some of us have been doing this longer than some have been alive did i just say that oops?
  3. nothing in life is perfect everytime. neither is wrong somethings are just more creative than others
  4. know ing what a gallon will produce in senkos will vary from person to person per the type of pastic they are using and how much softener they use as well as the salt ratio. but gallons wont help you if you want to open either a stand alone store or just a website as a gallon will never be in your order you will either buy multiple 5 galllons at a time or drums.
  5. 2 part epoxy putty from northern tool the blades start out 12"x3/4" and i only shape the part to dip i leave the handle part alone. i also use thebandsaw to cut the spinnerbait blades to slide them over the blade then epoxy them in place
  6. i used old road signs and stripped off the reflective material with a torch and putty knife then took to local shop and had them cut into strips on their brake. i then used a bandsaw to rough shape the body then used a file on them to get the final shape then polished with some brown and green scotchbrite pads so i didnt have to worry about using worm oil on them everytime. i had them cut 12" long so i had a handle to hold onto and hold them in a styrofoam block to paint then redip. i used spinnerbait blades for the tails on the dipping sticks. my key was getting the plastic to run cool enough to give an adequate amount on the paddles of the tails. i use a heatband on a 10" candle mold to hold my clear plastic for dipping thats welded to a 12"x12" piece of aluminum plate.
  7. red shad red is a dye not a pigment is what bear told me when he started selling it???
  8. not so sure about ever getting the uncooked plastic and such out of all the pores in the mold to ever get anything to seal it 100%. as for the plastic you are on the right track you need to to thoroughly mix it then be sure you are cooking it thoroughly as well. as you are new to this and have caught on alot quicker tham others try cooking it in 30-45 second increments and watch as the plastic changes to a gel then back to a thin pourable liquid as you get used to the changes you can speed up your melting times but go slow for awhile to see what is happening to your material.
  9. very nice coreshots!! i got the idea from a kid on bears site and improved a lil over tha past couple years but they are very doable in long runs i have found hotter plastic works best for me
  10. growing like a weed 17 months old now and fearless will dive off arm of couch into cushions
  11. aint it great we live in a free world where everyone can have an opinion???
  12. mail it inside a couple ziploc bags in a padded envelope. but the orrange/brown should get you really close just go for your own taste or work towards a good copy good luck
  13. hey i resemble that remark...LOL i do the same things with our baits richard i just tell people nothing in nature is exactly perfect and they never think twice about it!!

    Junebug

i prefer bears junebug and a drop or 2 of grape
  17. like i said its not how its done that matters its what works for each individual and that its a feel not a process. people will tell you that each mold shoots differently (but my wife can do this as well) we can take both of our 60" bar clamps and put all of our molds on the table minus the senko molds and shoot all of them at the same time right down the row and never miss a beat and dont change from one mold to the other either just inject and go. oh and BTW we start each session with 4-5 drops of worm oil in each large injector and they dont get anymore until the next session which may be the next day or a couple of days later. dont be mislead into thinking they need to be dripping with oil everytime you use them the high temp o-rings do not require that much lubrication as they become more pliable when kept warm. and no im not saying warm it ahead of time use it cold from the get go ....suck it up...purge suck it up ....purge ....suck it up and go!!! works everytime!!
  18. way back in the late 70's we were making grape and light yellow 4" flat tail worms out of their molds and guys were buying them up in southern MO guess what they call that color now after a few tweaks? too bad they didnt know it then but watermelon and grape laminate was a better bite we just didnt share that one with the masses...LOL
  19. i really dont believe its the injector unless its an o-ring issue but they are cheap to replace or the boddy of the injector is egg shaped but then the plunger would be really stiff. i am leaning towards that it is just a learning curve. this is so easy but alot of people dont ever catch on its just a feel thing with working with injection but i started this years ago doing lizards in an open pour mold and it took about a couple hundred bad baits to get a bag of 10 now its a breeze its all just a feel for whats going on inside the mold and then dont think about it just do it...BTW this is not a bash just my observations over many years and trying to help people catch onto this some do some dont.
  20. it is made for production machines and definitely not for open pouring or injecting very nasty crap to be near without good airflow

    ALL SOLD

    ALL SOLD
  22. you just missed one on ebay last week it sold for over 400.00 dollars for a 6 cavity. if you want an exact RI one expect to pay about 125-150 a cavity. and even though they are for personal use only it is still against the law to make them just a little fyi supposedly.
  23. just go to your local drugstore and ask the pharmacist if they have any "free" dosing syringes that you have multiple children and dont want to pass any bugs onto the others and they will usually hand you 3-4 of them luckily for me i have a brother in law that works for walgreens and he gets them for me all the time.
  24. its funny i remember back in the early 90's(if i remember right) when andre won 2 tournaments on BEAVER lake and when interviewed after the 2nd win he told reporter he was using a bait he designed for fishing BEAVER lake and he was going to call it it "the beaver lake special" and if you search the net i have found it a couple of times. with all this said i do know of 1 baitmaker who used this article and his receipts for buying the molds to prove he had a prior claim as did anyone else who could prove they bought the molds before being patented but after he made that comment could not be held liable; this cost him like 12K to fight out of court and RI left him alone as he was also only doing less than 2000.oo/year in sales but it did help his wife was a very respected patent attorney in MO.
  25. bear used to sell one with either 1 or 2 paint pressure pots but was alot more complicated than what you are describing and expensive also. i see they have since chnged the tanks to hold the liquid plastic but i am sure there were a few sold..
