  1. i dont think that i iwll be able to get vinyl thin enough to apply to the sides of baits with the scales in the bait itself. was thinking a thin mylar would probably work the best.
  2. looking for either mylar or foil holographic with like a frost on your windshield pattern? has anyone ever seen something like this and which would be easier to apply? thanks in advance
  3. i used to use their de-aired super soft and medium from bear; but have been using their ultrasol medium with a 1/4 cup softener per gallon and i find it too be great in texture no bubbles and no residual smell. if you have felt any of berkleys havoc pit boss baits thats the exact feel this formula i make is like.
  4. i hate to disagree with mark but 3/4" is not going to be enough of a sprue area for a 9" bait and an injector is doing the same thing as qwhat you are doing pouring and you will still need a larger sprue area to defeat the dents!!
  5. you are on the right track that is exactly what is causing your baits to "cave" or have dents is there isnt enough of a reservoir on hot plastic to draw into the cavity as the bait cools
  6. yep its good stuff we have been buying it for awhile we just didnt know it
  7. use salt for long term storage
  8. i have always used 2 sided tape and made small box sides out of the kids legos then siliconed it down to a piece of glass or plexiglass. sounds like your pop moldis junk id make another if it hasnt dried out yet. as for the resin mold how deep was it? im guessing not very deep which allowed it to crack
  9. not for sure about acrylics but i know for sure the basic createx set with just the primary colors work just fine
  10. if you really want to do alot of tubes fast and dont mind cutting tails dipping is by far faster at putting baits out. for under 50.00 you can make enough racks to dip over 100 tubes. then there is horizontal dipping if you want to use something smaller than a presto pot.
  11. the paints wont roll off if you will dip them in uncolored plastic after the paint dries
  12. has anyone made a photo finish tutorial yet? i have like 40-50 various rattle baits id like to give it a go on!!
  13. frank was the one that made something like what your talking about somewhere around a year ago maybe less. trust me though it is simpler to just buy the injection molds as that is where we started out was handpour molds and 1/4 the amount of injection cavities and it tripled our production
  14. your plastic isnt done cooking yet there 3 stages it needs to go through did it or does it go through all 3?
  15. anyone have this mold yet in 4"
  16. how tall and what kind of molds are you going to pour or are you strictly going to be injection? on my first couple of pots i was doing both and all i did was use 1x8 scraps 2 pieces 16" long for the top and bottom and 1 for the sides and just predrilled the holes and used 1 1/2" drywall screws to attach it all together. then i laid a piece of 1x2 14" long under the back 2 legs to elevate it for pouring or take it out if im injecting thats why i never got in the habit of using the pots bolted down just learned to pay attention you can do the same i am sure of it!!
  17. we had a website but it was a pain to maintain and we actually do more is sales without it than we ever did with it. we are back to making 4000+ baits a month and have standing orders from 2 retailers with multichain type shops so this is my point sell off of a website but you cant beat selling it yourself face to face
  18. i always advocate safety first!! it all begins by paying attention and not leaving room for error. think first, act second
  19. the film it left was more than likely just heat stabilizer it washes right off and it will clean the plastic residue off of your molds as well
  20. i dont believe he missed the point at all think before you act and accidents DO NOT happen; they happen when we fail to engage our mind before our bodies
  21. do you have a lowes or home depot close by lots of things can be special ordered either in store or online
  22. nope safety is always on unless carrying concealed then my colt is always live in a hammer block holster. the point i am trying to make is dont make mistakes we are all adults but if you have children around then by all means do what you feel to protect them but as for us we should know better and how to avoid this scenario
  23. uh...no that is not the type i am talking about??? any of the home project stores sell range hoods and unless you order one with a MUCH larger fan you wont even be able to remove the smell let alone any carcinogens. but i do like your idea of a box fan i just am partial to my range hood with sides that i took the motor out of and cut a 12" circle in the top and vented it with an adequate exhaust fan. it has about an 18" run at a 45 degree angle upwards to a louver panel. it works good enough that you can walk in my garage and not even smell the plastic cooking
  24. everyone seems to think that they will dump over are we all that careless we dont pay attention to hot plastic? i stuck my fingerstip in a pot full one time and that was all it took to make sure i dont want to do it again; now if we careless or just being foolish and not paying attention to what we were doing then yes i could understand wanting to bolt it down because then it would eventually happen but it doesnt have to be so does it if we do our parts?
