  1. thanks for setting them straight Kajun; we all know how well the range hoods in our kitchens work as soon as you walk in the house you know whats cooking but with adequate ventilation you wont smell a thing just fresh air
  2. i have our presto pots for going on 3 years and they are not screwed down and are elevated and no way they will dump over if you are aware of what you are doing at all times no brainfarts allowed
  3. or for laboratory type installations which this is closer to you would take your existing hood and measure the dimensions of it lets go with 2'x3' which gives you 6 square feet of area multiply that by 100 cfm per square foot of hood area and you come up with 600cfm as a minimum to adequately keep the fumes exhausted; and even then if you can walk in the room and smell the plastisol you dont have enough ventilation always think bigger not smaller in this case
  4. lureworks i betcha im right on this one. same goes for bear but for the smaller people a gallon of pigment is way over board cost and amount you could color with it
  5. i get all of mine from mf but it will discolor your baits just like salt does in senkos
  6. i came to know bear in january of 2009 and i have said it ever since that NOONE in this business is as sincere or easy to deal with as he is!! some people just find out later than others
  7. to use the airbrush it is alot more sensible to shoot alot of baits really quick and i use paperclips i have bent and stick in the tail hole where the insert was and hang them from a piece of latt board i have like 50 holes drilled in so they are all facing one direction then i just walk down the line and shoot the back color if they want or need a belly color i turn them around change guns and shoot that by the time i have that done my plastic in my homemade dipping pot is done and i just dip them all and rehang then go back and cut the strings off same as dipping tubes
  8. exactly as SHK said works everytime just dont forget to dip afterwards to get the best effects!!
  9. kajun on bears site has the perfect set up thats where you should look
  10. search under high-temp is what i did when i ordered some last year then check what its made of it will say in the description and use only viton orings.
  11. our last 4 varied in weight from 433-448
  12. since it goes by weight and miles it will be different for all customers but the pricing should be close unless your just buying 1 at a time just like anything volume gets a better price break
  13. depends on the temp you are cooking and the compound you are using it all is variable
  14. those lines are from pouring it a little too cold. they will disappear when you heat it a bit more. just rememeber that an IR thermometer doesnt give you an accurate reading unless you are only running a couple of inches of plastic in the pot. once you get it up to half full there will be waves of hotter plastic and cooler plastic towards the center.
  15. dents are caused by there not being enough molten plastic in the sprue area or the sprue cools off before the bait gets fully formed. when you pour the cavity full and top off the sprue the bait is still hot and will draw hot plastic down because as it cools it wants to expand and if the sprue cools off too fast it has nothing to draw from. as for air pockets those are all usually operator error always pour straight down the middle, when you move from side to side or off center you stand the chance of trapping a bubble. i pour sticks when i used to pour before i discovered the huge production gains with injection above 325 and went as fast as our 16 molds would let us.
  16. dont use the replacement ones from like a home improvement store order the correct oring from mcmaster or granger or you might have something overseas to avoid all the paperwork
  17. i might be the pitchman for our company but my wife and her sister are the true creators of alot of our custom colors that people come to us looking for plus they both like to fiswh and have been around tackle and know kind of what people are looking for. i can copy anything people put in front of me to see but these 2 are awesome together and 1 of their labors is free!!
  18. it is supposed to be significant so hold your breath!!
  19. you definitely need to call!! my last 4 from them werent that high at all minus roughly 180-220 a drum less
  20. let your plastic cool a bit before you try injecting and the cooler plastic will help keep the salt suspended better. if your pouring you will just have to stir it up really good and pour quicker
  21. its not the reheating on your first try the salt has settled and you dont have as much in those baits; then you reheat and there is less plastic but more salt/ratio and you get more cloudy baits. i would bet if you weighed the different batches they are getting heavier the closer you get to the bottom of the cup??
  22. frsmk you know all the major players and as long as you make it clear from the beginning that this is your design and yours only i believe any of them should accomodate you!! good luck cant wait to see what you came up with!!
  23. TOADFROG if you are filing taxes you could donate those baits you cant sell to any of the number of kids fishing derbys as give aways there a boatload of them in OK every year.
  24. i only use presto pots to pour with and inject so everything comes from the bottom where the bubbles are not. i can get bubbles with everyones plastic if i try too but using something that is bottom pour they are very minimal
