  1. I started with with making my design out of epoxy putty. sanding and shaping til i get the desired look. Then make a master blank mold out of silicone putty. Pour a few baits with junk plastic to test their function. Then pour several and make pop mold. The epoxy putty is very workable for a few minutes and you can always do this in stages. For instance ill do the body of a swimbait then add fins and a tail once i get the body where i want it. On small swimbait molds Ive found that if you drill a very small hole in the bottom of the tail section it will pour way more completely.
  2. I had one of these when i was a kid and still have the molds and yes they will work well with the plastisol. The goop they sell is just plastisol.
  3. Just use some super glue at the weak point and youll get several fish out of a bait.
  4. Making a dip mold is the best approach to this. You can buy palstic tear drop shaped beads as well. run you a wire through the bead and dip it in hot pplastic until you get the desired thickness. The commercial version of this is made from a more vinyl like product. Its a little stronger than plastisol. I think the plastisol will work but wont be quite as durable.
  5. take it to a paint store and have them sahke it, Let is sit of a day or so the have at it.
