@surfk9 I drilled the hole in the bill..made a loop in the wire to be just slightly larger than the hole, then folded the tag end of the wire under the bill..cut the tag end. I then epoxied the bill in to the body. VOILA...that bait runs as good and as straight as any you buy in the store. I hope that helps
Finished product runs nicely...for my 1st foray into custom crankbaits. I gopro'd it at posted the vine to my instagram account tnrbaits17. Making the hole in the bill was the vital part as far as positioning goes.
Is there some specific concoction used to strip the paint off of some of the beat up crankbaits i have....i want to revive them but m having a hard time stripping the old paint....or do i even bother stripping them and just paint over them?

Well Mike....After hooking that monster Shad in the face with a Dobyns rod ( and yes it was a stout rod) .i did what any good self respecting angler would do when hunting for deep green December bucket mouths....I tossed that bait ...AS IS ON THE PIC...in hopes of nabbing monster.
JFYI...I had my best day of the year that day ....i hooked into 23 largemouth..8 of which were overs, and losing a 5 to 6 lbs'er at the boat. Fishing in AZ is a tricky thing..even trickier is dealing with it while fishing in December.
Hope you had a Merry Xmas also Mike
