  1. Thanks for the tip Del....and everyone else. M going to work on it....i tried fishing the present wired worms on the market and i just dont think they have enough movement for me. Its been popularized out in the west and i have only tried to fish them a couple of times...it could just be that i don't have the confidence in the bait. But maybe if i made my own i would probably concentrate on working the bait. Del I hope you and April had a great Xmas...Once the Holiday madness stops I'll be back at the shop to buy a ton of more stuff.....For everybody else you can't go wrong when buying your molds from Delmart...I've seen his LAB and its top notch. One of the advantages of making baits in Maricopa county is being able to make a run to Dels and grabbing some last minute things. Thank you again Rick
  2. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has successfully made westy type worms.....I am trying to avoid using wires so the plastic has more maneurverability....I read a couple of the threads for wired worms but i haven't quite grasped the technique....any advice would be greatly appreciated...I was hoping to also avoid threading the hooks through the worm body.. Thanks in advance Rick
  3. J2...go to a local hobby shop for the D2T...i found it in the big bottles for $15..but its lasted me pretty long

I have been using the pearls on my spinnerbaits...I have some old cranks that i was thinking of repainting but not sure what kind of top coat to use....i thought using D2T would be too heavy and thick. Dakotas paint scheme loox like something you see in saltwater reefs....I like it....Very nice

while jigging schools of shad ...i just happened to ruin this little guys day..or did i??? Mayhaps he was really hungry and overzealous and went after my spoon and got more than what he bargained for. Rick
  6. Coming from you jim thats a huge compliment...Thank You...Now I'll probably make two dozen of em Rick

  8. Just can't seem to stop making bladed baits....i came up with this little diddy to skim the tops of all the deep growing hydrilla here in the southwest.

    Shad Details

So i was spooning balls of shad in deep open water and happened upon this little guy...by the way i hooked him i don't if it was by accident or if he wanted to be a bass when he grew up...either way i thought his details would be a good idea to post.....I cant get over how yellow his tail just happens to be.....anyhow.....ENJOY. Rick

    Rainbow Trout

1/2 oz rainbow trout colored 1/2 oz.
  13. Thank you for the compliment on the paint job....just getting used to the paints.....I guess I'll experiment with the skirts....my curiosity gets the better of me i guess.....i'm sure i'll blow out an eyebrow or something while trying to come up with some other hair brained scheme...either way thanks mark for the response. Rick
  14. In the forum area i had asked if the createx paint is a good paint to use on my spinnerbaits....this was the end result.....it has two coats of d2t...its not quite done yet but i really like the colors....its a little more runny than the vinyl paints but its more readily available than the vinly. I'm sold on it. i think it looks decent. Rick
  15. Mark Poulson or anyone else..... I have a real dumb question....since the createx is used for clothes and other materials....how feasible is it to airbrush colors on to silicone skirts to alter the skirts appearance. Has anyone out there ever tried it? Rick
  16. This is the first one i made with the createx.....m just getting used to the paint texture through my iwata....whats nice with the airbrush paints is that i can use just a litte bit for each spinnerbait i make ....for this one i used the flourescent yellow the flour. purple mixed with pearlized gray...and pearlized gray for the body...i added the flour. orange to the mouth to give it a touch of character... really appreciate the info fellas... Rick
  17. I noticed that the color is pretty solid....have you been able to make it more translucent with less powder?
  18. Thx Duc....i have not tried it yet but i plan on it....i can airbrush the vinyl paints but it appers that there could be some interesting color schemes and effects if i used the createx stuff.....and the createx stuff appears easier to manage. It gets tedious at times mixing vinyl then cleaning the brush then mixing then cleaning...etc. Rick
  19. Can anyone out there tell me if they can or is it possible to use the createx water sol color on lead spinnerbaits...they have some nice colors i would like to use on my spinnerbaits. Rick
  20. Yeah Cadman... air brushed then epoxied. Sorry about getting back to you so late...Been doing more fishing lately than making baits. Rick

    Bad Day

Dave.... Sounds like a typical day at my house. Remember my pop mold and my clay model? You had a ric670 day:D . I had the problem with the D2T syringes too. But a hobby shop literally opened up in a strip mall about 2 blocks from my house and they sell the big bottles of D2t for $15...now i can pour them separately and evenly....but you have a different problem altogether. I understand ur pain......i have been having problems replicating that model which was going to win me some big tournys....all i have now is a brick bait coffin . You'll figure something out Rick

    New ESOX work

In a word......SICK......what a natural looking work of art.....cant call it a bait...they are without a doubt works of art. Now can you get them back in the water before they die Rick

    New large Grub

Hey Panch, Let me know what you're bumping your head on.....I'll ram mine through it to try to get some of the creativity juices flowing in my melon. Rick
  24. it holds well and you can barely see the epoxy coat over the eye
  25. not that it means anything but this one is an example of one coat of D2T over the eye...i just made this one this past weekend and i also posted it in the gallery R
