I am curious.....is there a marked difference if you scent your plastic?? If so...and this is mostly for my black bass fishing brothers out there...what is your preference...I dont know of any tests out there with different scents that work better than others; and who makes the preferred plastic scent? Rugbyfishermans a guy after my own heart...i have the same rig....crucial x66m with the stradic....whether you're going to cast a worm a country mile or need to place it accurately on the fish's nose that rig is awesome for finessing......I was thinking of dabbling in putting together my own rods...but i already spend a ton of ducketts on making baits that i think doing my own rods would take me to divorce court...and until i hit the powerball iguess i'll just keep her around because i enjoy being nagged about goin fishing and making baits.....and just breathing.

I have a shimano crucial and love the sensitivity on the tip...i use a crucial for all my spinning gear and have it paired with a shimano reel...i have not lost many fish due to it either....I had a carrot stick but would give it up in an instant for the crucial...some other rods look fancy..bucco the vendettas the carrot stick but i would go with the crucial over any of em....for my casting gear i have a vendetta a carrot stick and a dobyns....and love each of em for the different rigs..the dobyns for my swimbaits a st croix for my spinnerbaits a carrot for my cranking and the vendetta for my jig work..but that crucial spinning rod for the money is aces... but thats just me...m sure there are a bunch of better anglers here who will say m nuts...

Can anyone tell me how you make detailed dots or effects on plastic? I think you use a glue gun, but i have no idea how to use it.....thx Rick

I am sure there is something somewhere about melting lead that is laden with some tin within it somewhere on this site...but i can't seem to locate anything. My question to the rest of you out there is can i use this hardened lead in my melting pot...i have the standard electric melter by do it molds for pouring jigs and especially spinnerbaits. Any help from you boys out there would be greatly appreciated. Rick

Personally i think the ban on lead is a lot of BS. I fancy myself a patriot but lately this government has only provided me with more questions than solutions. The government is getting waaay too big....i would consider myself moderate and am upset with the way the government wants to control every aspect of our lives. (This is a sensitive topic...but m venting) .....from controlling fishing waters to diet police i believe its gotten out of control. Really? U wanna control what i eat? If i want to go to Micky D's and order a big mac with a milk shake and wash it down with french fry frier oil....then so be it. The lead ban is just another issue to stack on top of all the others. This election year promises to be very interesting and hopefully we can move some of the dead weight in Washington. ooooo my wife just brought home some pizza and wings but dont worry m gonna wash it down with a small diet cola.

If you plan on being on your feet a lot invest in some padded flooring. If you plan on making jigs and are going to use powder paint get a heat gun. If you have a Harbor Freight store nearby you can offset a lot of cost from buying there because their prices are pretty good, plus there are coupons for harbor freight online as well as in some of the fishing mags we All buy. Outdoor life, F/S, Bass etc. Vodkaman has a little caption that serves true for most of us. I have spent a ton of ducketts just because i lost a few lures to some HUGE fish. I have never lost any lures to trees, rocks..birds or the occasional jet skier...just fish. (note optimist) You will figure out what you will need plus you will come up with some stuff no one here has come up with. And when you do post them here so we can steal your ideas. Also You need posters on your walls of scantily clad women and music. The music is to drown out the wife or girlfriend while they have do lists for you. Because making baits is more important. Oh yeah and no cooler with alcohol in it....not yet. Wait till you get used to the other flamable stuff you will be dealing with first before getting shnockered while making a lure. Thats just me and my preferences. Have fun

I have been searching for the Thread with everyones vote on their preferred plastic but i cant seem to find it...Does anyone have an opinion on medium strength plastic...I have used Dels (which i like) and LC's. I have not used any of the others. I am basically making worms craws and small swimbaits. Thanks fellas, Rick
