  1. My roomates dog got ahold of one of my Fuegos and chewed the rubber grips off my handle, so I've got a couple of questions: 1. Where can I buy either replacement handles or upgraded ones?? 2. How the heck do these come off the crank arm???
  2. Can you figure out the cause of the break? I havent had any problems with the 4 rods I've built for other people and two more for myself.
  3. So what kind of prices are we looking? Do you offer bulk pricing? Painted, un-painted?
  4. I grabbed an old broke down rod, cut the guides off of it, glued some 100grit sandpaper all the way down that blank and use it for reaming out cork, it works great, just go slow like Mattman said.
  5. lol I kinda figured you didnt quite get what I was cutting, its all good!
  6. Ah I see now!! I work with alot of metal (outside of fishing) and cutoff wheels are a dime a dozen at my place, alont with 2 chop saws, so that is very good to know! Thanks man!
  7. I need to cut my blank about 6 inches, what tool am I looking at using to do this? I thought maybe the sawzall might rip it up, chop saw might be a little overkill, I tried chewing it off, but this proved to be ineffective. What do I use?
  8. Its a little spendy for a lure, but I think if it works I might buy two!!
  9. I'm still fairly new to the rod game but paint I do know. If you prep your material good, and lay down your paint well, using quality materials, I cant imagine you would have any problems with it. Maybe if you left it in the sun it may fade over a really long time, but we're talking years in the sun, IF you use quality materials. That being said i think I read on here or rodbuilder.org that someone used automotive paint and had it turn out great.
  10. How did you build one of these? Do you have a link so I can see it or anyhting?
  11. I actually did order it, supposed to be here shortly, I am going to be a good boy and wait till it comes before I start on the new rod too!
  12. Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it. I dont know anyone around that I could learn from, and I'm kind of annoying when it comes to learning something cause I am a do'er not a watcher, I'll listen to anyone but watching them do it gets me rattled! I have ADD, but making baits has calmed me down alot and I know this will too.
  13. I just ordered a cheaper kit from Acidrod.com, I've wanted to build my own rods for quite some time now, I am totally new to the whole thing. Does anyone have any tips that will help me? Do I need one of the lathes/rotary tools that I see, I know if I get into building I most likely will, but do I need one for this first one? I'm just kind of testing the waters on building but I know that I will get addicted to it and want to build alot more and higher end rods too. Is there any tools that I for sure have to have to do the first one?
