    12" cisco

Beautiful work! Glad to see you started posting pics again. I've looked at your gallery, and all of the baits there are just gorgeous.
  3. I wouldn't recommend trying that. I tried it once, and the food coloring seeps through any paint you spray over it. @ troutgnat, you shouldn't have any problems spraying Wal-Mart paints. I use them a lot, and they spray well when properly thinned. I use water to thin my paint, and I usually thin to about the consistency of milk or a little thicker. The Wal-Mart paints do seem to take more coats than createx to cover other colors. This is particularly true with the white Wal-Mart paint, but on the other hand the black will cover just about anything very easily. Hope this helps. Ben

    Carp Dog-Walker

Thanks! I use Trondak U-40 LS Supreme High Build epoxy on my lures.

    Catfish!!

Thanks! I used rubber jig skirt material for the whiskers. I put a dab of hot-melt glue on one end, let it dry, and then fold it over on itself and insert it into the hole in the lure body. If you glue the whiskers in straight they'll just pull out. I hope this helps. Ben

    Catfish!!

This is a catfish swimbait I just finished. Carved out of pine (I think), 5.5" long, weighs 1 ounce.

  10. I caught this fish yesterday on a lure that Crazy Joe made. It measured 23.5" long and weighed 4.5 pounds. It's the biggest catfish I've caught to date. It's odd; I've caught several catfish on cranks, and they have all been at least 23", but when I used chicken hearts or other natural bait the catfish I've caught have been smaller than that. Regardless, this fish was a lot of fun to catch. Thanks for looking. Ben
  11. Thanks! I had a lot of fun painting this bait.

    New small swimbait

3" long, 1/2 ounce, slow sinking. For this bait, I had my sister draw a fish and then I turned it into this. It has a nice, tight action. I think this bait is going to be a very good fish-catcher. Ben
  13. This is a RC 2.5 from Predator that I rounded the bill on. I also removed one of the balls inside to further change the action. I was going for a carp pattern with this bait, and I think it turned out very well. I was looking at Tigger's gallery the other day, and that's where I got the idea for the white gill plates. Anyone who has not seen his stuff in the gallery, well, you don't know what you're missing. If you're looking for ideas for lures or painting, I would definitely suggest looking around in the gallery for a while. Let me know what you think. Ben
  14. I rounded the bill on this one in about the same way as I did the other one, but I only left one ball in this bait. I tried a bluegill pattern, and I've got to say I'm pleased with it. I used b75nweav's bluegill pattern as a starting point, and then I changed it to what you see. Thanks for looking. Ben
  15. My sister helped me on this one. She decided to paint a catfish, and this is the result of our joint operation. Let me know what you think. Ben
  16. Title says it all.
  17. Thanks! I used printer paper over foil tape on this bait. The printer paper is easier to smooth out than tissue paper, and it gives better detail.
