    Stellar work there!

Very nice! I really like the dual yellow stripes on the sides of the lure.

    Cellmate

Here's one I missed yesterday. For some reason the uploader didn't take the first go-round with this one? Or maybe I checked the delete box by mistake. . . Anyway, this one is the same fat shallow-diver style as the others I posted. PVC, garolite bill, stainless-steel hardware, Createx paint, E-tex topcoat. Enjoy! Ben
  4. Thanks guys! RayburnGuy, this style has a 2" body length (bill excluded) and weighs 1/2 oz. Dive depth is 2-4' deep, and it really comes through cover well. Casts like a rocket and thumps very nicely on retrieve. I don't mind sharing anything about how I build my baits. Having someone copy my baits really wouldn't make much difference to me - heck, every single lure out there is based on some other lure or lures, and that includes the ones I build. As far as that goes, this lure is actually styled loosely after the WEC E1. Ben
  5. When painting this color for the first time, I had a vague idea of what I wanted; namely, a flashy shad pattern. I didn't want to se foil, so I went a different route and went ballistic with glitter. The back is covered with dark blue glitter and the rest of the bait in silver glitter, and in the sunlight it really pops. Thanks for looking! Ben
  6. I love bluegill patterns, and here's yet another take on that much-attempted pattern.
  7. Nothing much to say about this bait, except that the brown splatter on the back didn't turn out quite as prominent as I had planned. But, I think it turned out pretty well even with the finer splatter.

    Firetiger

Somebody wanted me to copy the Ima Japan "Chartreuse/Black Back" color. It's actually more of a Firetiger color, but I wonder if they didn't name it what they did to try to cash in on the hype after KVD's big win with this color? There's a lot of fine silver glitter on this bait (FolkArt® Extreme Glitter™; I love that stuff because it can be airbrushed and it comes in several different colors), but it doesn't show up well in the pic.

    Absolutely stunning!

    Very, very nice work!

Stop that! You're making the rest of us look bad. That's got to be the coolest pike lure design I've ever seen. The color pattern on the bottom bait is a work of art!

    divingbeetle

That's a very, very cool lure. The feathers around the edge really set it off.
  13. Thanks! My brother does all of my lure photography for me and he's darn good at it, although he sometimes looks at me funny when I ask him to take pictures of some more lures... However, I'm photographically challenged so I ask him anyway. He hasn't shot me yet.

    Red Ear Bream B71

This is a large medium-wide action shallow runner.
  15. This bait is based on the Rapala DT10. 2.5" long, weight 5/8oz. Hopefully I can stick a bass or two on this bait, but as the worlds worst deep crank bait fisherman I'll see if that actually happens.

    Aurora Black B41

This is my current version of the Aurora Black color, and I think it's my best one to date. There's a lot of dark blue glitter on the back of the bait that you can't see in the pic, but it really pops in direct sunlight.
  17. PVC, circuit-board bill. This bait has a very lively action and looks like it will dive 5-8' deep.

    Tablerock Shad B41

Small shallow diver. I wanted to do something different than the standard chartreuse/purple Tablerock Shad pattern, so I jazzed it up with a metallic purple back, pearl silver scales on the sides, and a fluorescent orange throat.

    Red Ear Bream B41

All of these baits are hand-carved out of PVC, airbrushed using Createx paints and top-coated using Envirotex Lite. This color is my version of the Norman Red Ear pattern. I liked the first one so much I went and painted a bunch more to match. Thanks for looking! Ben
  20. I've done it, and the paint does seem to flow a bit more smoothly after polishing the needle. It doesn't hurt anything, and if it seems to help give better painting results, I say go for it.

    Natural Bluegill

Thanks guys! The 15 bass were caught in a farm pond, but that's still far and away the best hour of bass fishing I've ever had.
