  1. Anybody have an idea about amounts of fat one would put in a recipe? Reason I ask. Last year I was fishing an overflow from the bank. I wasn't having any luck at all. I saw a worm that someone lost in the rocks. It was one of the netbaits. I'd never heard of them. I decided to use it and I caught 2 bass almost immediately. The fishing expo I went to is the only time I've ever seen them for sale so had to buy some.
  2. Thanks. They have some nice looking baits.
  3. I guess it just proves what I've always thought that everybody loves bacon!
  4. I picked up some netbait super t-macs (basically big trick worms) at a fishing expo today. They say they contain salt, scent (anise), and pork fat. Anybody ever try putting any kind of fat in their baits? Is it for scent? I also picked up some stick baits with hook slots that look pretty cool. Greg
  5. Ok, I actually got it closer. Wave Fishing Watermelon Red Flake Tiki Stick 75 ml plastic (LC 536) 3 drops LC Green Pumpkin 1 drop LC Watermelon 1 drop LC Motor Oil 1/8 tsp med red glitter pinch small black glitter
  6. Wave Fishing Watermelon Red Flake Tiki Stick 50 ml plastic (LC 536) 3 drops LC Green Pumpkin 1 drop LC Watermelon 1 tsp salt flour (for color not really weight) 1/8 tsp med red glitter 1/8 tsp med or small black glitter This is just about dead on.
  7. I believe that lurecraft is in Indiana which should be about the same for you as it is for me. I'm not sure about the other suppliers. Greg
  8. Thanks for the reply. I'll give the silicone caulking a try. Greg
  9. If you added lots and lots of hardener just how hard of a plastic can you make using plastisol? I need to make an adapter for my dust collector and was wondering if I could make a mold of what I needed and use plastisol as the material. Thanks, Greg
  10. Yes it does. I probably have a quarts worth of what ever that sediment is in about 1/3 quart of everything else. The worms I poured after getting a good stir are quite a bit harder! Greg
  11. I just got started and I'm still on my first quart of plastic. I always shook and stirred it around good as recommended. I could still see an area at the bottom that was whiter than the rest. I figured it was a stain or something because I was agitating the bottle pretty good. I threw in a hex nut per your suggestion of a rattler. It got stuck in the bottom of the bottle! I threw another one in and had to shake the crap out of it to mix that sludge in. Now I know. I just ordered a gallon and you can believe that it will have some rattlers. Thanks! Greg
  12. JB Weld is some tough stuff and I would think it would hold up to the heat but I can't imagine it adhering to the plastic. It's just a type of epoxy and usually epoxy and plastic don't work well together. J-B Weld will not adhere to, or bond well to: Any flexible rubber surface Leather Vinyl Canvass Polypropylene plastic Polyethylene plastic Loctite has an epoxy that is supposed to adhere to plastic but I'm not sure about the temp rating. Greg

  14. The Bass and Saltwater Fishing Expo is coming to Raleigh, NC 1/8-1/10. Anybody going to be there? Greg
  15. I didn't have any white so I was using salt flour to cloud it up. I got that part pretty good it's just the color I'm having a problem with. I've got an order ready to go to get some more colors. I think I just don't have the colors I need to match this.
  16. Sounds like I definitely need some motor oil color. How do you fish those sticks with the tails? Just like a regular worm or more like a swim bait? Thanks, Greg
  17. That sounds like a good idea! What I have may work great but I won't know until I try it. There's a local golf course lake that's loaded with lunkers and they love the watermelon red flake tiki sticks.
  18. Ok, I've gone through about 1/2 qt of plastic trying to duplicate Wave Fishings Watermelon Red Flake Tiki Stick. Is there anything you can use, like some kind of clear oil to try and match colors with instead of wasting plastic? This is what I'm trying to make Watermelon Red Flake if anyone has a recipe for it. I'm using LC plastic, colors, etc. LC watermelon is way too green. I've tried adding LC pumpkin seed with the watermelon but it's either too green or too brown. I'm also tried using salt flour to lighten it up. Thanks, Greg
  19. Good advice. But, I'm a bone head. I bought a new 1 cup pyrex filled it with POP and did so without lubing the inside. Yea, I broke it trying to get the mold out.
  20. I finally took the advice that I've read over and over again on this forum and purchased an infrared thermometer. I got the Ryobi IR001. Does anyone have opinions on this model or have a suggestion for one that might be better but is still in the $30 price range? Thanks, Greg
  21. I just wanted to post a pic of some of my worms. I use POP molds. I never would have gotten such a quality bait without everyone that posts on this board. Thanks for all the help. Greg
  22. It's pretty thin but I wasn't really planning on it being the perm solution. I just wanted to try it out.
