I started by making my first swim bait in 95',an 11" wood ,hinged bait, my 1st trail I caught a 7.2 bass ,I still have the bait and have since caught over 50 fish on the bait ,with a 14.2 the biggest. I have moved on, no one could produce the bait for a price that would sell I went the plastic route, have made several of my own bait's and colors, and do make the big seller bait's Tried the web site routine with very little succes. Count your money at the end of the day while pouring for 10 hours and you don't make anything Right now I'm making enough to pay for the pastic and over head and clear $400.00 a month. Enough to pay for other crap. Most all the baits out there are just copies of someone else's bait's! I have 4 of my own bait's,made with Wallie world silicone molds. It's time to break away from the crowd and do your own thing and see where it lead's you. Good Luck to you Do your thing!!! Ray Tombstone Baits Stay away from Paymate

Zooms Trick Worm After much investigating of there Trick worm,Has anybody noticed that the bottom of the worm is NOT fromed like the top and takes on a hand poured design? I just went fishing with the worm and a double mold design,What a difference in action with the Zoom compared to a double formed worm. I caught more fish ! (6) on the Zoom than the double(2) There is something to be said about hand pours!!!!!! Ray Tombstone Baits

Hello. Still woking with the silicon,The press mold seems to work the best. The colorant is for 2 reason's 1. It does seem to have some effect on the silicon as far as bubbles 2. It gives me a visal aid when stirring it up,I can tell if a get a good mix I tried nixing with just colorant any it did not work,it slowed down the drying process to 4 days!!! The water is the answer ,but the colorant still works, only a drop or 2 Good luck Ray Tombstone Baits -

The mold is still flexable and more like the molds you would make with a 2 part RTV AS for silver ,I don't know. You may want to stick with a solid color,Silver has some other stuff in it(not sure what)but it seems to seperate even with constant mixing. Good luck with it Ray Tombstone Baits:yay: -

After much expreiment with Wallmarts RTV,I have come up with a very clean mold. Here is the formula; 1/2 teaspoon water 6 oz.RTV White 1 drop of LC Blue dye, this seems to be a big factor in the procees,It seems the dye has some type of a catalyst that that really set's the RTV off,No air bubble intrapment! The mold comes out very clean and looks like the ones you would buy. I have tried the same with the clear and still had alot of bubble's The White RTV and Blue dye are a big factor. Will post pics in a couple of days to show results,. I have a few more molds to make Ray Tombstone Baits -

This dead on,if you use that many drops change company's Zooms green pumpkin 4 drops LC green pumpkin 3 drops LC brown 2 drops LC black 3 drops LC yellow This is for 12 ounces in in a Lee pot. If your using that much color (28 drops) change company's fast, there crazy and taking your money by watering down there color's Don't fall for the dark color, keep it lite,Bass only see silhouettes, not true colors. Hey Ron, Curing time and use will remove the smell,I still get it sometimes off RTV molds,If the temp gets to high.It is a problem that we all live with when pouring baits. Make sure you work in a well ventilated area whenever you work with this stuff or pour baits. Do not do this in your house.! And use the new plastic that is Phthalate free. Good luck with your Project. Ray Tombstone Baits Any one else out there got any suggestions?? -
Hey, Welcome,I would suggest you start out with a single mold 1st . the 2 part molds are nice but very pricey, and some require injection pouring. For plastic, molds, and supplies go here Fishing Lure Making Products, Soft Plastics, Lead Molds, Hooks and more! - LureCraft They have the new green plastic that doesn't smell like some other plastic They will have everthing you need to get you started. Once you improve your pouring skills and mixing colors you can move on to the 2 part molds. Good luck and have fun!!! Ray Tombstone Baits

Hi, I used a plastic Orginal ,no coating of any type, mixed the Silicone with a small amount of water,( 1 table spoon to a 16oz cup) When I removed the mold(about 1 hour) I noticed that any excess water had surrounded the worm and made the mold smooth. It took 3 pours before the Salamander came out shiny.I have seen this on other new molds as well, they seem to pick up something in the hot plastic before they turn shiney that is left behind,I have also seen this on molds that I haven't used in a while. I had some small bubbles all through the mold but not in the cast. I think the amount of water is very critical, I will be making 4 more molds and will keep you posted . I want to measure the exact amount of water and silicone, this is just to good to be true. I have about 25 molds ,but the more of one kind the faster productivity.
