  1. I am new to TU and I have been reading lots of very good information. I am an avid muskie hunter, love the sport. This year I decided to build my own wood lures, mostly replica of baits that I like. Last year I made about 2 dozen bucktails, and I made a tool to help me to twist the wire, works great. I use a metal stock 1/4 by 1 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. I get mine from a refrigeration supply house. It is a Unistrut B-Line flat joiner piece to joint a unistrut channel Part # B528 A: I cut a wire slot, for the size wire I want to twist B: I drill / tap an 8/32 hole for a a 8/32 s/s bolt C: use a 1 1/2 long 8/32 bolt, notch a V grove with dremmel tool. Slot needed to trap the wire D: cut the head of the bolt, it gets in the way when you form the last eye on the wire C: form the wire eye with a Knipex pliers, tag end should be under main shaft D: insert wire in slot, trap tag end in V groove of the bolt E: get a pair of pliers and twist CCW 3 or 4 turns, the wire shaft should push to the back of the slot F: I use the dremmel to cut the tag end I belive you can make CCW twist you just have to flip the bolt on the other side. Once you get the Jist of it you will make professional twist I hope this will be useful to you guys. Thanks for sharing Gino Testone
  2. Hello everyone I am an avid muskie hunter and a spoonplugger. I have been reading all your post from painting to building baits, you guys really rock. I want to thank the guys that put information how to build a lure turner , I have purchased the material to build it. I will build in the near future, very easy to build once ideas are given, thank you. Last year I started building bucktails and DCG done really well. I built a simple tool to twist the wire to make a loop for .051 and .62 wire, I form the loop with knipex round pliers, than I use the tool to twist the wire, they come out perfect. I Like to make some contribution to this board once I get a litle more familiar how this site works. I will post drawing and pictures of the wire twist tool, if it is allowed. I do have a question, I am a litle confused or maybe not looking in the right place. Is there a TUTORIAL section. I been finding lots of good information just by using the SEARCH function Gino Testone
